my father in law and I are attempting to rebuild the brakes in his 61 f100... however, the former owner has done some
backwoods engineering on them so, we are starting from scratch... does anyone have any pictures and info on proper placement of all the drum brake internals? front and back are needed.. we got the rear drivers side almost on.. and what looks correct.. however, the drum is super tight.. the passengers side done the same way .. can't get the drum on..
The shoes are also not resting on the top guide post.. we have been debating if we have the shoes reversed of what they are supposed to be.
Thanks, appreciate any info and pics you guys can share.. I used Disc on my pickup so I am not too familiar with the setup for the drums.

Adding to Brians post, the larger surfaced shoe goes to the rear and you may try to turn your adjusters all the way in take the palm of your hand and slap the shoes back and forth to 'center them' the drum should go on, adjust and bleed.
