Morning Shiny....I haven't actually started my Crew Cummins swap, but I have done Extensive Measuring....

I have a 93 Club Cab Cummins I have driven for the last 2.5 yrs....My 65 Crew is Going onto it's chassis....

My Crew is Currently sitting on a Standard Long wheelbase 4x4 frame, can't remember exact hub to hub measurements....but My Dodge Frame was within 2 inches of being the same....I am going F350 4x4 on the running gear, so I am going tohave to do some cutting in the rear

Measuring For Cab location on the 65 to Engine, it will sit within fractions of an inch to what the Dodge cab is Now...So front wheel placement and centering should be a no brainer for you.....

Also, cause it sounds like you will be into and done sooner than me....look at just swapping the entire Dodge Harness over....I am leaning that way on mine for several reasons....
One , Power windows..., 2 Factory Cruise, 3 Factory AC.....Look at your Dodge Heater/AC box....Location and Size....It appears mine will fit very cleanly into the 65's cab with little to no mods...4 holes in the Fire wall for plumbing.....
If your looking for pure basics, and just running, then Yes the early 5.9 is super easy to run on its own.......
I also Am getting more pics of a local Crew who is running your Set up with no intercooler.....He's been driving it for 2-3 yrs now on a 3/4 ton 4x4 with 5 speed getting an average of 22-25mpg.....:)
here are afew pics of his truck....:)

you dont have to cut on the rear on a Ford or a Dodge
They both use lift blocks from the factory.

remove the lift block, and drill new centre pin holes in the block at 1 or 2" away fro mthe exisitng and bolt them back in

Even the driveshaft should still work as the slip yokes are some 7" long. So if you need to get closer to the transfer case , just cut off an inch or two of spline and slip the yoke back on. At 2" you may have to remove an inch from the yoke as well

We truckpull on shafts and blocks modified in this manner with no issues so a street truck will with no worries at all.

turtle what i ment by trimming or extending was forward or Rearward Axle placement on the rear....

I am doing a Duelly in the rerar on mine, and a custom Bed, so I am not sure just yet where I'll be on Front to rear Center placement......:)

So assuming your Axle is under the Spring Pack, you are saying that you reposition the Axle forward or back by drilling the Lift block, and using that as the adjustment....?

I would think that on a truck hauling loads there would be more stress put on the spring pack on the side less centered.....???? Leading to stress cracking or full on failure/snapping....?

I'd have to see this set up in operation over a Long period of time before going that route....

On a truck empty all the time just running the strip...ok....???? But I'd still be worried....

I have drilled lowering blocks to move the diff one way or the other to center the wheel up in the fender opening. But usually no more then an inch. never had a problem.

You guys got me thinking I should kick this Dodge body off the chassis and put the slick crewy on right away! hehe, Still need to get the cab complete and then do it. Plus I need it on the road a while longer in case it snows, yeah right! Never snows where I live on the warm left coast

64crew4x4, that black truck is so cool! Glad you chased him down.

while we're on the cummins install topic, I've been considering a 4x4 dodge chassis for my '65 F-250 if I can find one for a decent price

how does one register a truck where the cab and frame don't have matching VIN????

why would you tell anyone you changed frames?
second question would be how do hotrodders register custom chassis/frames?
does it matter in the grand scheme of things?

my 65 sits on a 91 chassis and i have no intention of saying anything as no one knows but me, and maybe a few diehard slick fanatics might be able to tell the difference...lol

as long as title vin matches door tag, rest is meaningless IMO.

done countless frame swaps, mostly good shape 2wd bodys on 4x4 frames. never had any issues , i dont advertise it and dont worry about it.
