Finally Got a bed for 1966 Crew F350

Post by Julian Mule »

After checking into things, it seems that the best thing for me to do was to get a flatbed/servicebed for my truck for now. When I redo the whole thing and pimp it out, I'll probably move the rear axle to use a styleside LB. But for now, I just want to be able to use it like a truck ;-)

So after a bunch of research, I found a pretty rare custom stakebed that was made for a SRW truck. It's only 7' wide and 8' long. Since my frame rails are 8.5' even now that they are cut off, I have decided to mount the bed about 12" away from the cab and get a custom fuel tank/pump put between the cab and bed.

Here's some pics of the bed as is... it was never used to carry anything before it was taken off of the 2012 F250.
It cost wayyyyy more than the truck, but I am paying way less than half of the cost to build it new.

I am going to have to move the boxes from the front of the bed to the back to make room for the tires.

I am very excited about this bed. I should be able to go get it with my trailer on Monday or Tuesday...

Can't wait to see it on the truck.. If your going to consider moving your gas tank now is a good time. :)
