Anyone know if powder coating would stay on headers?

Powder coating will discolor on headers, and come off in the worst case. The area close to the motor gets to hot for powder coating. We see the discoloration sometimes in heads as well, because the exhaust port wasn't "matched" to the gasket and header, creating blow back of exhaust.
There are a few companies that make colored ceramic coatings if thats what your looking for. But to me, the basic ceramic coating still looks the best for headers.

When I painted mine I used some of that VHT High Heat paint. What I did was glass bead headers to get all paint off. Then made sure not to touch clean headers with greasy hands. Hung up the headers and using a Torch heated them up not really flaimng hot but hot and used about 3 cans on each header. You kind of have to wait until they are just right to spray them. If you try and paint them while they are still to hot the paint will evaporate so test and see. It has been over 10 years ago and the paint is still on them some of it has chipped off around the collectors.
Hope this helps.
