Now you guys back off a little. I am a MOPAR guy, but appreciate the 66 F100 that was my Dad's old truck. It is the only blue oval in my collection. I have been thinking of ways to make it more driver friendly with the 352 and 3 speed OD, complete with the leaking FE exhaust manifolds. Ya'll keep throwing off on us MOPAR dudes, and I will submit postings on how to swap in a 440 and torqueflite! (I have the extra stuff sitting around to do it!

You know, this gets me to thinking. In the 60s and early 70's, the Sox and Martin Race team had Jake King as their head wrench. He was an old time Ford guy, so he painted all their race hemis Ford blue. If I did swap in a 440 and painted it Ford blue, and used some repro decals, how many people would really know what they were looking at? HMMMMMMM.......

I would since the dist. might be in the front BUT Its sideways,,,,,,,,,, and by the dist it will say what size the motor is..............

Sorry, but incorrect! The pad beside the distributer has the size for the low block 383 there, but that is not the location for the raised block 440 stamping.

Guess I seen things not there since back in the early 70's when we where running Chargers the 440's where stamped as well as 383 and 360's

The 383 is stamped on the pad below the distributor. The 440 has a boss in front of the intake valley that the 383's do not have, and is stamped there.
