Hey All!
Well i have the infamous intake manifold oil leak. So i finally decided to takle the issue. My flywheel/flexplate is all chewed up as well, so out came the engine. It was my first time with this truck and i have to say it was pretty simple. removed the intake manifold then noticed a crack on the L/h head around the intake bolt hole before #8. Not just a crack a big crack with a chunk of metal missing. It seems to look like someone over tightened the bolt and pulled the metal away from the head. there are no cracks running into the intake maiting surface.
heres the delema!! There is sooo many different heads and all kinds of numbers its making my head spin. I read that i can install all heads up to the 428. then i read i cant. if i do find some 390 heads is there any changes i also need to make? example push rod length. I am on a serious budget and wasnt expecting to have to buy heads. Oh Well! Im sure you all have been there. any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
oops! Its a 66 fe352 stock out of a 66 f100 custom cab 3 sp cruise o matic complete stock truck.

Re: fe352 engine issues!!!!
Hi from Ca. I have worked on fe. motors in the past. Maybe I can help. It sounds like you are going to rebuild your 352 the 352 block is also used for 390ci the bore and crank shaft is the only difference. The rocker arms are non adjustable but there are three different push rod lengths. To allow for heads being milled over time. And the heads are interchangeable. 332 to 427 I am currently running 427 style heads on my 352 block bored to 390 and 390 crank. Jerry
