I don't care how many times I see this type of cycle racing on video, I still can't believe it is humanly possible..

Ah, you can obtain 'em at any time; just one little bad landing can provide 'em almost instantly.jamesdfo wrote:Lance: All it takes is to emerge from the womb with grapefruit size testicles, the rest is easy!! :)

The guy who starts last and rund 50-60mph the whole race can probably finish in the top 5.

It amazes me when they come around a corner at 150 or so and they are leaning in .. and you can see brick walls, trees, mail boxes... right there !

Also helps to know the terrain which they all seem to do. I'm not sure they often wreck because they're surprised at something around a corner. They probably wreck because they're constantly pushing the envelope.

Re: No matter how many times, I still can't fathom it....
Thankns for posting this Lance , nice to be able to view something most of us will never do, and get the feel of it. I've had bikes that would run 150 but not one that would do 200. I've driven cars at 150, when Iwas young and full of it, but didn't have a bike of any real caliber to achieve that kind of speed untill later in life. I chickened out at about 135 on a bike, but was in my fourties by then. At 18 or 19 even into my late 20's I would have been game for it. Now, I can only look and wish for my youth back. Good eyes, fast reflexes, getting up in the moring feeling good and ready to go, things of my past. Now, just getting up and not hurting is a triumph, and ready to go is not quite the same as I hobble for the John.

Re: No matter how many times, I still can't fathom it....
Back in 1979 I bought a Yamaha TT500 that had a aluminum tank. After what my trail riding buddy described as a spectacular wreck my almost new thumper had had similar dents. But that was back in the days when I thought I was invulnerable, I rode with the attitude that if I didn't fall at least once a day then I wasn't riding hard enough. Riding on the edge was fun, stupid but fun. Never got hurt more than cuts and scratches. Twenty years later I got taken out while operating a forklift with an overloaded dump hopper. Now a days I do all my fast riding and driving on a PS3 or XBox, still crash often but I don't feel the pain.Toyz wrote:Ah, you can obtain 'em at any time; just one little bad landing can provide 'em almost instantly.jamesdfo wrote:Lance: All it takes is to emerge from the womb with grapefruit size testicles, the rest is easy!! :)

As my dad used to say, somewhere there was a horse that died a painful death from terminal constipation due to missing a key part of its anatomy.
Re: No matter how many times, I still can't fathom it....
A lot of us can relate to that! My favorite remark has become; "if I had known it'd be this noticeable 50 years later, I would have either concentrated at staying on a little more, or stayed the hell off"!
Like they say; "if you aren't living on the edge, you're taking up too much room". I'm reluctant to try some of the newer games such as Forsa's offerings; I don't need any more "habits"!

Generation gap; Kawasaki wasn't in my vocabulary at 15. At 21 however, that changed
