Steering column wiring diagram for a 1964
working on my 1964 F100 Style Side. I pulled my steering column to rebuild it. The wiring at some time before I got the truck has been butchered. I do have about 12" of factory wire before they added all green wire to what ever. Dose anyone have the color codes as to what wire goes where. I would like to put it back with the proper connections. Necco-2

just went out and checked my truck b/c i remembered how much of a headache wiring the column was. hopefully this helps. i have a 64 w/ factory column wiring attached to an EZ wiring harness.
here are the colors of the wires i have coming out of the column, and what i have them wired to.
Green w/ orange stripe- Left rear turn signal
Green w/ white stripe- Left front turn signal
Orange w/ blue stripe- Right rear turn signal
White w/ blue stripe - Right front turn signal
Dark Green- brake switch
Light Blue- turn flasher
Blue/Yellow striped- not wired to anything currently, but im 99% sure it's the horn
(7 wires in total)
If it looks like the old wiring harness is butchered (as mine was), I would suggest buying a new wiring harness. They aren't too expensive, and are worth every penny. I'm a broke college kid, and I saved up for a 21- circuit Ez harness (painless performance or another brand would work just as well), and it was one of the best investments I have put into the truck. I'm not very electronically inclined, but it still took only a week, working a couple hours every night (spring break) to install, and I have had zero problems so far. But again, just a suggestion. good luck with the column, and let us know if you get it figured out.

If you just want to rewire the column, NPD has the turn signal cam with the column wire harness for about 30 bucks. I did mine because the cancel tabs broke off.
