65/66 core support now available

Post by 64 f100 »

Got my flyer from Obsolete in Oklahoma City a day or two ago, and when I opened it up, there it was , on sale for 250$. . Also noticed someone paid 500$ for a used one plus shipping on Evilbay just last week. Glad these are available and hope these have a good fitment. Anyone buy one yet?

after seeing you post this and seeing that sale price I called them about their price on the 61-64 also. It's also on sale through end of January for $250. That's cheaper than anyone else I know of, if someone else knows of the 61-64 for that price or less post it as I usually see it listed at $350-400. I need one for my uni and we don't have a supplier we are a dealer for. I wasn't in the market to buy a core support right now but if it mean saving $100+ maybe I reorganize and bite the bullet. it's either that or maybe use whats good on mine and make a modified version that works. maybe i'll dig mine back out when I get home and ponder this a bit...ken....

61/64 Supports are OK, if the 65/66 are like them also will be alright,, 67/72 where junk needs about 1/2 gallon of filler to make it right I say about 90% of whats on the sale I would not even put on a junk truck especially there rubber,, I know of a company just starting out that is buying all that stuff from them and I really feel sorry for the ones going to buy it cause it will be a problem, anyway it does not say whether it's a 65 or 66 support,, I guess it's pot luck

I was wondering that myself. Probably doesn't know they are different (or hopes the buyers don't know that :-) )

Well, at least it's "pot luck" rather than expecting a correct model and receiving a "one size fits none correctly!"

I'm Ordering One For My 64' This Week. The Shipping On These Is Outrageous. $110.00-$150.00  Fedex Used To Be Pretty Reasonable On Larger Items But Apparently Those Days Are Over. At Least The Discounted Price Takes Part Of The Sting Out Of It..........

Problem is shipping cause dimensions of box brings it to about a 90lb weight rate which brings it to anywhere from 110 to 150 dollars,, I already bought one of those 67/72 POS Of Tawain junks and 73/79's they have and basically gave it away BUT Like I said the 61/64's are OK so far But as time goes on like the way they stamp them overseas the lead dies get wore out in about 50-75 stamping's and they will keep stamping them out even if they get off BUT What else is there to do,, Have them stamped if this country many problems, 1st find workers to do it here  , then build a press to punch it out  good luck on that in this country, then buy the steel in this country and until things in this country change we are at the mercy of them in Tawain

I bought a fender from those guys at one time because as it seems it was xmas or right after - they had a free shipping offer for total cost of a certain amount. Memories not very good on that one. But at any rate it wasn't to bad. And I know the fender mat not be as good as original but it's still the best one all around I have found in my hunting.

made in Tawain,, not for me,, those are the slip over ones,, They also do have slip over ones that are made in this country but it just seems that it's all about profit margin and that's why big companies are not selling them just like the floor pans you see on the flyers here as well, ALL About profit margin on them as well,,, If anybody does not know what I mean by slipover cab mount is, they go over your existing cab mounts by raising the cab high enough to slip these under then lower cab back down, more for people that don't have access to welders where you can cut the old ones out and put back the originals,, I know the original ones made in USA Cannot keep here in stock selling real good...

Nothing that a good day with a welding machine, hammer and grinder won't rectify
Yes there is considerable difference in the radiator mounting.

Tom, sorry I didn't make what I was asking clearer. I was asking about the rubber mounting kits. What is your opinion on those? And. you are right about the slip over mounts. I wouldn't use those unless forced to. Would buy Carpenters first.

on the support see if you can ask them if the have the 3 caged nuts that you can see behind the grill,, if so then that's the 66 support,, 65 will not and I cannot see them in the picture,,,,,,,,,

Rich I have not seen the rubber bushings in person so I cannot say on them,,, I have not tried them either But if they are way cheaper than carpenters then in quality like most others all made in Tawain so that can be like pot luck as well

Kind of what I figured Tom. Thanks for the reply. I have tried calling on the support, yet. Money is starting to get tight for my toys. Wife is retiring and selling out her store and I've bee up at the store helping keep an eye on things and doing ring sizing. Not my cup of tea working in a jewelry store but it's only till Christmas. (hopefully) My wife has been tied to that store for 30 years 6 days a week 51 weeks out of the year. I've been off working on the road, guess we'll find out if we can still live with each other, as she will be going with me from now on.

Have a great Christmas,
Rich

The website lists it as a C6 part number so that would indicate it is the 66 version.

I Took Advantage Of The Sale And The Core Support For My 64' Arrived Today. It Doesn't Seem Too Bad, And In My Estimate Mine Wasn't Repairable.... Image
