Biggest issues is the changing planes of travel between the axle and the collum. A rack is not designed to move and is not built of materials to allow this type of stress. Its chintzy aluminum, made by the lowest bidder.
Plus travel on the average rack is about three maybe four inches. about half the distance your slick needs to meet stock turning radius.
New steering arms to correct the Ackerman are provided but she will still bump steer on every bounce. Same as the steering you have now. Stationary box and moving solid axle...Nature of the beast.

I dont know if this is the same system I saw installed on a straight axle 4x4 on Xtreme trucks, but I am looking into finding out who makes the system, a system thats mounted to a brace on the axle controlled via hydraulic pressure from the gear box instead of a shaft, this way travel on the axle from the chassis is not an issue.
I have been really busy lately so havent had much time to check into it, should be on powerblocks website, if anyone has the time to look it up

That sounds like a re-do idea from the factory F250 Hiboy ram assist type steering from the late 70's.shawns fords wrote:I dont know if this is the same system I saw installed on a straight axle 4x4 on Xtreme trucks, but I am looking into finding out who makes the system, a system thats mounted to a brace on the axle controlled via hydraulic pressure from the gear box instead of a shaft, this way travel on the axle from the chassis is not an issue.

Not sure if that would be legal, not having a mechanical backup.shawns fords wrote:yeah I thought about that too, but its a nice alum rac and pinion with a hydraulic gear bix, only thing im not sure on, is if you lose hydraulic control, you lose steering, I looked up powerblocks website and the vehicle is on there but not the steering system,![]()
ill keep working on finding out more

Hi guys, Rob from No Limit here. Here is a little info. Our rack mounts to the axle. The kit comes with new steering arms to correct the geometry and the steering radius. With a u-joint on the rack, and one on the column, we use a keyed slipshaft to connect the two. So, there is load put on the rack from suspension movement, and there is no bumpsteer at any ride hieght. All parts come in the kit, even the hose fittings into the rack. I'm glad there is so much talk on this. I'm sure it will be cloned by others soon, so at least you will know who was first. It's OK to call and the trueth from the soarce. Have a great day.
