I'm retired and it's cold outside today so I have some time.
your statement:
Quote .....totally old skool period perfect 60s gasser style.
You wont find anything for parts on this truck except the frame that couldn't be had back in the day...... un-quote
That may be where some of the feedback is coming from. Plans change as do builds. I've changed directions for one reason or another, we all do.
Here is some good gasser vs street driven car reading.

I will start by saying I like some of the things you have done. It's a good build for the most part, but it's NOT a gasser. That's my opinion. I would consider it either "gasser inspired" or "street freak".
You asked what is not period correct? I understand that you did some things to make it a better driver but a lot of these things are what throws it from a gasser to a street freak.
Chrome POWER BRAKE BOOSTER and billet master cylinder - not gasser.
Chrome TILT STEERING with a billet steering wheel - ng.
"Billet look" alternator, ps and motor mounts. Also as discussed earlier the pulleys are modern, not vintage - ng.
Power steering - ng.
Air Cleaner skulls - rat rod.
Shift light on a 5" tach - ng.
Billet and anodized carb base plates - ng.
Clamp-on ladder bars - ng.
Halogen projector headlights - ng.
The extreme raised stance front and rear are not gasser as much as they are late 70's street freak.
I was raised in a "car" family. Uncles did race back in the original days. I started driving in the early 70's and the street freak thing was just starting then. My older sisters dated guys with actual gassers so, yes, I have seen them in their day. Tilt front '56 Chevy sedans, early novas, a '46 Ford coupe and a model A coupe were common in my neighborhood as a kid. I hung out in the garages and watched. Yep, I was there. I saw them in the late 60's. I also was driving in the street freak days and that is what you have built...mostly.
It's a lot like the guys doing "old school" street rods and having the heavily tattooed ladies hanging with them. Some how, they think this was common "back in the day". To tell the truth, guys with cars didn't have much time or money for girls....and girls didn't have every inch of their skin tattooed in the 50's.It just didn't happen that way. It's a modern perception of days gone by.
Want real feedback, go post it on the HAMB as a gasser and see what the guys that actually raced them have to say. You better have a really thick skin to post it there, they are pretty harsh. They "hate" me right now because I'm not putting a flatty and WWW bias ply tires on my '37. Oh well, it's my car and I'll build it as I please, you need to keep doing the same. That's what drives our hobby, individuals and their opinions.
I just got rid of a ' Henry J gasser. It's been a rebuilt stocker, an '80's street rod and was on it's way to gasser status. I got away from it when I decided to build a true gasser it would be lacking too many creature comforts I wanted. Gassers didn't have plush seats, tilt steering, power brakes or billet aluminum. Some high end cars had a lot of chrome but they were not built to drive more than 1/4 mile at a time.
I also have a '70 Pro Stock tribute car I'm building. I'm trying really hard to build it with parts and pieces that were available in 1970 or earlier. So far my only concessions are the tires (still the correct size, they just have tread) and the radiator. I'm working on getting rid of the radiator. I found that Sun builds new tachs with the old cases and faces.
Keep up the posts and build thread. I enjoy watching your work. I like watching gasser inspired builds as much as restorations, bagged trucks or slightly modified trucks. I like looking at trucks but like them correctly represented, it's one of my pet peeves.
