Yep many times. Car seat, baby bag with bottles, diapers, baby wipes, etc. just take off and leave the nag home. I guess thats why my son loves the Slick so much. It was just me and him. Did the same thing with my oldest son in a 68 bump. Now that im a grand pa it going to happen with the grand kids.

Me and the wife brought my son home from the hospital in my 66 and spent many hours crusing around in that truck. My son is now 21 and 2 years ago i bought a 65 for a parts truck to make repairs to the 66.
The 65 ran so good and all that i couldnt use it for parts so i am now in the finishing stages of finishing it.
My son now wants my 66 that is sitting in pieces. He wants me to help him restore it.

I have and still do a car seat in the truck (from time to time). Only one seat at a time as I only have 2 seat belts. In fact my kids fight over who's getting to rid in the truck. I can't move the truck around the yard with out 2 kids and the dog jumping in the truck.

Heck ya!!! Funny thing, there is no floor or firewall insulation and running dual 2.5" all the way back, and doing highway speeds it is so loud in the truck between the engine/exhaust and the wind screaming through the side window tracks, that my oldest falls asleep in no time flat. The sound and the vibes must lull him to sleep. A good sign I think
Weird is relative, and my relatives are really weird!!
My daughter keeps asking when the truck is coming out of winter storage. she is 5 and wants me to drive her to school in my 65 every day if we could. She thinks sitting in the front and being able to see everything is the coolest. haha. GREAT father daughter time.

Yep, back in '84 I had a car seat in my '66 quite a bit, the kid went next to the door & my chickie was in the middle.
After we had more kids, the truck ran out of interior space quickly & the family driver duties belonged to the '70 Charger until fall of '88.

J/k. I remeber taking trips as a kid in my parents old cars. It didn't take me ten minutes of driving to fall asleep until the end of the ride.
I escpecially liked layng on the warm back floorboard so I could hear the exhaust rumble.

My daughter is now three and has been riding shotgun daily in my 64 since she was a week old. Soon she needs to switch to one of those booster seats and that seems more difficult, the other seats work with just lap belts but now I need a shoulder or maybe even a harness on her side? Still working that one out.
