I like the smoothed upper panel above the grille & the matching filler for the hood latch area.
I like the engine bay treatment, although I'd paint that radiator a different color & pitch the flex hose (looks like the guy ran out of money right there).
I like the idea of making the headliner & bed cover match the lines on the hood.
I like the 'baseball glove' theme for the interior...kinda different & cool.

I like the custom grille treatment, not too many mods to a stock grille actually look like they work.
The louvered hood is a take it or leave it.
My only two dislikes are the flame job & the placement of the fuel filler cap...I'd slide it to the side, so my pants don't scratch the paint when I gas up.

I agree with most of your thoughts too. Not a huge fan of the paint either, but paint is so subjective. I would be ok with the fuel location, but make the tonneau go around it and all the way up to the window.

Well the baseball leather theme interior is def. on my needs list for both my projects (has been for 4 years). But to me, by filling the area under the front of the hood, it makes the truck look like a chevy!

I saw this truck a few days ago on ebay and purposely left it alone, as I am semi-consciously comparing it to a real nice stocker of the identical colour, from a couple years ago. I really hope the guy who did this didn't start with that beauty.
I agree with your assessments, mostly, too Slick. Never been a fan of tube grilles. (or anything but stock grilles on these trucks). One thing looks weird to me is the location of the wheels in the rear wheelwells, looks like they are an inch or two back of centre.

I like it, the matching underhood color gained popularity a few years ago, don't hate it just not a me thing. I am not big on bed mounted tanks or fuel fillers. The rest is VERY cool, although I wouldn't use any billet.
I LOVE the tailgate!

Its weird, I could easily pile on tons of hate:
Flames, tank, grant wheel, tired wheel choice, hood louvers, weird brake booster cover and the biggest issue- no hood ornament.

All that said without the flames I'd drive it. Its cool

I would not have done it that way, in particular the grille, louvres, and cheesy flames, but it is OK, somehow, still..
says a lot about how overpoweringly appealing that body style is.

I have never liked the shaved look. I had a freind who had a 68 with shaved door handles and something broke, he had to throw a brick through the window so he could get home.

My personal all time favorite Slick grill is the 1962. I have never seen a custom grill I liked on a Slick, until this one.

That is a truck I would walk past at a show. I can appreciate the work that went into it but thats about all. It just doesn't appeal to me. I like my truck a whole lot better as is....but that is my taste and not the owners.

I didn't contribute any work to the build and he didn't call for my suggestions or a monetary contibution.

I hope he gets his price.

for that kind of money, the hood will line up with the cowl. even if it took me 15k to make it happen. love the stance though.

I`d agree with most of what you all have said, why put the filler cap in the middle of the truck! one either side would look better. The biggest let down I think is the door panels followed by the stitching on the seats, I`ve seen better stitches on an appendectomie

There is no doubt that a gazillion $$$$ and hours went into this truck. It looks well done if that is the look you want.

When it comes to flamed unis, Stella will always have my heart. All you old timers know who I am talking about. I miss her, hope she went to a good home.

Yep. I'd take Stella 20 times over the green one. Especially since I know how she was taken care of, and who built her. And, she has that great '61 grille. How do you improve on that?
