Hood tutorial????

Post by 64 litl un »

The hood on my 63 is in pretty good shape except below the hood emblem where all Slicks rustout.
I have a 62 hood that is in much better shape but Ive thought of repairing the one I have while it is still on the truck.
Would anyone be interested in a pictorial of the rotten metal cut out, posterboard templates made off the 62, fitted to the 63 hood, then reproduced in metal and welded and finished to prime while never pulling the hood from the truck.
I can drive it home with one headlight.

I would like to see that Big Un. I like to learn all I can whenever, I can
That would look good in our "How to - Tips - etc." forum here I'm sure.

Our trusty founder Lance has done this, but I don't believe he posted his method so it's anywhere around. Yeah, a tutorial on your success and what you'd do different would be a good thing for the club.

I think uncle skip recently said that a spare upper valance is the same shape, that you can turn it upside down, clip out a chunk, and graft it in...
