Pate Swap Meet April 24, 25, 26 and 27th (North Texas)

Post by PFM-64f100 »

It's that time again for the Pate Swap meet. :Dhttp://www.pateswapmeet.com

I finally got my window stickers for my spots. We have 6 spots total this year. Our spots are as follows:

Zone 2A
Ave 11 & 12
Block 64
Spaces 734 to 739

Link to space layouts 2A Is where we are at Near the front entrance.
http://www.pateswapmeet.com/space_layout.php

This year we will have at least 2 Easy ups for shade and lots of room. Everyone's welcome to stop by and join us. I know TR is going to make a "Slick 60's" sign so you can know where we are. The main thing we needed last year was chairs so if you can bring a folding chair just remember to take it home.

Friday night I have made the suggestion we meet up at my place after the event. I will throw some food on the BBQ and have some beer and other drinks, plus some other fixings. If you want to bring something bring it on out. Good thing is I live fairly close to the speed way. PM me for directions and address.

Saturday we are planing on eating breakfast at the Snoty (JK) Pig (Snooty Pig). I will need to get a count of who wants to join us for breakfast to get some reservations. The place is big enough for all of us I just want to make sure there ready for us. Here is the link for directions It is just south of TMS. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=2401+West ... iwloc=addr

If you want to go to Breakfast please answer the poll I will use this for our reservation count.

For everyone who can't make it we will drink one for you. Moose I still say you should have your honey moon a Pate Swap meet but we understand.

old.gif Chris, count me in on all of it. You already knew that anyway. I've been putting new u-joints in the 57 this weekend, and trying to get the windshield wipers operating. I figure if I do, I won't need 'em. Does this sound like good logic? Anyhoo, we'll be coming in on thursday morning, but not sure of what time. See you soon. TR

Poll?
What poll?
We don't need no stinking polls.
From the Houston contengent;
BroncoTom will be there for breakfast.
I will be there for breakfast.
Max will be there for breakfast.
"No show" Ricky will be there for breakfast.
A couple of other have promised they'd be at Pate, but you know how some people will lie.
Moose will be having breakfast in bed, but it won't be at the Snoty (sic) Pig. ROTF
I think we'll go straight to Denton, sign in and then head to Pate for the Friday walk-about.
See you Friday afternoon.

Sounds like we will have a good crew this year...

I have modified the overall map of pate for eveyone. Because Mercules has spots also I figured this would help eveyone. good thing is we are on the same row just a bit apart for each other. Mercules has a good corner spot.

Mercules do you normally bring your CrewCab to Pate? If so I think I have seen it before a blue on right? A couple of my buddies think I am crazy because they Never saw a crewcab slick at pate. I hope your bringing it this year I would love to get a close look at it. My uliamte truck would be a crew but at last the crewcab hasn't found me yet...

By my count so Far I have about 8 people for Breakfast. I will make reservation this weekend if more chim in about breakfast I will increase that number. I am going to bump the number up anyway just in case some decide at last mintue.

62galxe there shouldn't be any problem with getting a room. Skip, TR or anyone else from houston want to give the "hotel" location for Denton yall are staying at? I was told what it was but can't remeber which one it was.

Only about 2 weeks left before this starts up. I sure do have a lot of work to gather up all the stuff I have for pate. I better get busy.

Hey chris, I have had the truck at Pate. You probably saw it there. That has nothing to do with you being crazy. I will try to have it there this year. Gas prices are going to be a big factor (for everyone). Hope to see everyone there.

I'll be there sometime Friday. I'm staying in Dallas this year, so I'm not sure about making it to an early breakfast on Saturday.

Pate has been fun so far. Today was the first day. Meet lots of people JeepBut, TruckRat, TR buddie John, as lots others just don't remember there names right now. sorry mind is against me right now. I heard from skip today, him and his crew are coming up tomorrow about lunch time.

We have found several other slicks and lots of people who knows someone with a slick. Keep an eye out for some new members we told a lot of people out the site today. One guy had a nice twin Ibeam it was blue and looked to be in great condition. He just bought the truck a while back.

Mercules didn't get to bring his crewcab but he showed me pictures today he has 2 of them. Some people have all the luck he got one of them from a bone yard for $1800 or something like that. I could only wish.

Oh well tomorrow is another day of fun hopefully we will not have any rain during the day.

Glade you were able to show up Neil. I wish you were around for the group picture.

Pate was fun this year and we had great weather. I think we all just about walked our legs off.

For those who want some pictures. I threw together a quick Non Dial up friendly web page for all to see.

http://www.purpleflyingmonkey.com/Pate2 ... e2008.html

And this is our group picture this year or at least one of many that were taken.

I would of loaded pictures to my album but still getting code errors when uploading!!!

Hah. Some group shots are better than others.
Here are a couple of more.
Thanks to Jennifer and Jennifer.
These two ladies are champions.
Max's Jennifer went two days without a wimper with a bunch of rowdy Slicksters, walking and looking for neat and valuable "stuff". Never anything but a smile for everyone.
Chris's Jennifer pitched in and made chow for a bunch of rowdy and hungry Slickster's and then showed up Saturday to be with the bunch again.
Both of these ladies are keepers. Thank you Jennifer (and Jennifer).
Now, a couple of more shots for you that missed the fun. Next year, bigger and better.
PFM's private garage is a neat place.
Pate is a big place.
The group took up a lot of space.
Ya'll come see us now, ya heah?
