ok so some of you have seen my other post in the truck talk... I'm having to rewire my ENTIRE 66... what a Pain in the ASS. Just because the PO was a dumbass. Instead of actually ever replacing the fuses he would just wrap em in foil... OH and on one of the fuses he just found a peice of aluminum, folded it in half and shoved it in there.... Nuff said. Rest of the truck is cool, but damn.
Now for the 64... Can I tell ya how sick and tired of body work, block sanding and wet sanding I am? I cant even blow my nose w/o hvaing black boogers come out lol. now im waiting for paint to dry.. again... I wish I could just get it over and done with.. couple good heavy coats and be done...
ok im done.
Lot of work in progress but give me another month or so and Ill get some pics up will be worth all the cursing.
I think my 85 LX vert must have been owned by the same guy, lol.
Can't help you with the body work rant, I have been waiting so long to get mine started I doubt I will complain at all.

Hey Thanks, it the thought that counts right? If you lived closer you cold also bring yours here and we could save some elbow grease with my new compressor.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
I got it at Lowes, It's Kobalt (probably Campbell Hausfeld though). They have discontinued sales of larger compressors, this one was a floor model listed for $699, I paid $549 for it. If you have them locally you may check there, could get a deal on a floor model like I did.

I here ya on the bodywork. A friend of mine has a body shop behind his house. I helped him a few times back when I had my '55 F100.
He helped me a ton installing a 429 so I returned the favor.
Guess we now know why body shops charge so much for labor.

yeah, the fuse keeps blowing, (which indicates something bad going on) so they override the safety device... Aggie had a chunk of a pepsi can for a brake light circuit.... The wire was charred the entire length. it's a wonder it didnt burn down the truck.
I dont remember specifics, but in my aircraft crash investigation class, they were discussing a plane that crashed due to a pilot holding down a circuit breaker for the pump in the aft toilet. It lit the plane on fire and it crashed. The investigators found an insulin (or heroine, meth etc) syringe stuck in the impeller.
so yeah, overriding fuses and breakers is bad news, but it seems that ALL POS do something like that.
I had bodywork fun 2 summers ago... Worked on it for the whole summer and it's still rough as hell. She would look like hell in anything but black primer right now... WELL, I guess I got high standards, and dont want it to look like my cousin's 73 Javelin. It looks like they smeared dogcrap all over the hood, smoothed it with a shovel, and painted it purple....
'63 with 390 & lots of juice. But never enough. Always want more.
im pretty particular about my body work... body work and sheetmetal is what I started doing and the rest just followed suit. still a couple rough spots on my 64 but im sick of body work at the moment so I got them "ok" and sprayed lol. Ill knock it back down on those spots this winter and finish it up
To bad I don't live closer, body work and painting are what I do for fun. I have been doing it since 1967 so I've had a little bit of practice. I always sad I did body work just so I had something to paint. You're a little to far away to drop in after work to help out. Sorry.
