Custom grills
Custom grills
I've seen El Polacko's grill... just wondering if anyone else has done/seen any other custom grills on a Slick. Or anyone have plans on doing something different?

I would like to find an un-restorable grille to modify, It's hard to play unless ya have the parts in front of you though.
Got an idea if I can find some honeycomb material like the 71 to 73 Mustangs had.

He just takes his tractor another round....another round......another round....

In my opinion, slick's don't usually look too good with modified grilles...however, I do like the quad headlight look like El Polacko's idea

I would think that a Starliner grille would look just as good.
There was an unfinished '59 F100 for sale locally about 15 years ago that had a 68-ish T-bird grille sunk into the front end. You wouldn't think it, but that truck looked really cool with hideaway headlights!

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

Glad you like it Comet, since that's what you are doing.
I can't say that's I'd take that over a stock grill of any year of slick tho
That T'bird grille on a fridge sounds intriguing.. I always like those years of T'birds. If I found one with suicide doors (at the right price) I would snap it up in a hurry

It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
That's an interesting look. I can't say it's something I'd personally do, but I can appreciate the time it took to get it there. The main problem with a mod like that is it will only appeal to a select group of people, so it's gonna be harder to sell, IMO.
That one's going in my "automotive oddities" file, right next to things like this...although, I'll admit, this is just a tad worse.
Just sick-n-wrong, I tell ya.

grill, BBQ style
I'm thinking of using the grill material that is sometimes used on BBQ grilles for my 62. I'd just need to put the turn signals behind it and besides that I think it would be pretty easy. I guess this is the Texan in me applying the principles of barbequing to my truck. That honeycomb stuff would be cool too if available.

Yeah, I was going to add that too about the lights. I totally agree with ya.ABA wrote:I could go for a grill like that one, looks pretty good
but I would have to put the turn signals under the headlights.
I think that would look much nicer.
That red thing is ummm-how do I say. Not my taste
My Slick is rustier than your Slick!
Not a problem at all, at least the way ElP did it and the way I'm doing mine. The stocker will swap right back in there. My original grill is hammered though, so I'm not keeping it.Slick Fan wrote:The main problem with a mod like that is it will only appeal to a select group of people, so it's gonna be harder to sell, IMO.

As custom grilles go, that Chebby with the Camaro nose is just as appropriate as any of the others we have seen I think.
Those things, Ford or Chev, would not normally turn my head at a car show, that is to say I would pass by them unnoticed and uncommented. Stock grille would make me look more, I would say.
There are kind of two camps on this, the Barris sort of thing and the Foose sort of thing, I surmise. I guess I am more in the Foose camp.
