Old versus new steel wheel question
Will my 1966 F-100 stainless steel hubcaps fit a lter model wheel...such as this ??
http://www.finishlinewheels.com/FORD/F1 ... -01570U45/
Also, will the hubcaps fit an after market steel wheel with the outer hubcap dealies ??
Thanks.

as long as your hubcaps take the outer tabs which should be for 66 models.... if they are the s/s with in inner tabs, then no

Should be still plenty out there on stock rims but a lot of these yards crushed and they just throw the rims in a pile and then forget what they do have or get wheels in that are not stock any more

I went to Bob's F100 today in Riverside, CA and went through his stacks of wheels to find the OEM Ford 15" steel wheel with the "innie" tabs for my 65'.
I saw several 66' and up ford stock steel wheels with the "outie" tab for the correct style hub caps for 66' F100s. Original stock wheels were made by Kelsey-Hayes for Ford. The wheels were constructed two pieces and riveted together. Overseas made after market wheels were welded together and not riveted like the OEM Fords are. The guy helping me at Bob's F100 show me both OEM and after market styles and there is a difference. My advice is to find original Ford wheels of Ebay or auto junk yards if you want the correct design for your slick. I did find a website selling Kelsey-Hayes NOS wheels with the "outie" tabs for reasonable prices. So good luck in your search.

even though it might be a drive as I see it on the map,, if you goto Abilene to this yard FM 600 which is off I-20 about 6 miles north of the intrestate has mant of these wheels already off or still on th e73-79 trucks so you can run disc on the front, Name of the place is FM600 phone number 325-672-2597, I usually talk to Dean that wears the cowboy hat just mention that I told to call we are ones that run out of the N.C. that comes buy all the time, might even have some 15x8's for the rear there..

maybe "THick" is a compliment?????
hahaha
trouble with rims at the junk yard is that they always yank em before they hit the yard, and it seems they junk everything that doesnt look super special... Or am I just too dumb to look in the warehouse?

i don't know about the 66, but the 67 until ??? are 15x 5 1/2. i have seen 15x8 and they were 80's up style. i think there were also 15x7's. i don't know the years the width changed, but the dimensions should be stamped on the outside of the rim-between the beads. i have a whole pile of 15x5.5's. even have two i powder coated.
