I like them on the bigger trucks. I am really thinking of putting them on the Crew but that might take a while. If anyone finds a link to buy the orgianl style please post it.... :D

i did not look that closely until you mentioned it but yes the 1 finger salute is being given.
Or the "California Howdy".

I think they look good on F350 & larger trucks. Lifted 4x4's look purty good wearing them, too. They look funny on 2wd half tons, IMO.

I've got a Lund sunvisor (a whole 'nuther opinion question) with built in clearance lights on my Suburbus, sorry for posting a Chebby pic in this thread. :P

But if you also look he is parking wrong with his tires on the curb. I do know thats against the law here in Okla for sure. I had a friend that got a ticket for this back in high school. I like the lights as i am a truck driver and like the chicken lights also. I was thinking of doing like some peterbuilts are with ten lights on the roof.

I have always liked the cab roof marker lights on F250's and 4x4's.

I think they'd be cool on a crew cab as well.

The P.O. had them on my '63 Uni but I took them off and zapped the holes away.

Well - so far, it looks as though the majority of the folks that have voiced an opinion believe the lights look good on 4X4s and F350s and larger trucks.
Not too much love for them on 4X2 F100s..... ss_pokes2.gif

Mark,
What is a N/C switch?

Foggy,
What are chicken lights?

Ezernut9mm and Greenindian,
Thanks for researching & sharing the part numbers!! :thumright: I'll check into just what my friendly FoMoCo dealer can do for me.

I still think I'd like them on my F250....if I can locate the correct style of light for me.
I also seem to be continuing to lean toward preferring the look of the older style, bullet-looking, chrome & glass lights over the more modern, bubble-look of many of the plastic lights.....

Sorry Barnie, I am an acronym junkie. N/C means normally closed. The switch is wired in series so when the button is pressed, the lights "blink" or shut off momentarily.

Well Barnietrk you have seen the semi's going down the road at night lit up like a christmas tree with all kinds of extra lights all over them. Well in the trucking industry thats called chicken lights. I think that was adopted from being scared of getting hit by either another driver or four wheeler. Might also have been started by the chicken haulers. I dont know how they got the name but thats my thoughts on it.

Thanx JC, now not only must I remove my "barefoot" gas pedal----but also my purple glow lights . Next you'll have me getting rid of the 22s and rubber band tires, "Can't touch This" windshield tint, and the six 12" woofers in the bed.

I think you have to wear them pants that make it look like you have a full load tho

My '65 F-250 came with the two outer clearance lights and no center three. Not sure what kind of add-on they were, but they were old. One was broken so back then I went down to the Ford dealer and bought a couple of replacements that were "correct" for the truck (I think they had a C6TZ part number) and they were different, so the originals were probably aftermarket. Anyway, I thought the two lights was kind of "old-style" because I once saw a '53-'56-era big truck with the same set up, so I stayed with the two. Mine is a Camper Special with the West Coast style mirrors so I like the big-rig look. I'm planning an older Avion Camper for the truck in the future and I think I'll like the look of the lights between the cab and cabover. So from me, thumbs up on roof lights.

In my travels, I've seen two lights used like that maybe three times. Twice on Fridge trucks & once on a Slick. One Fridge I saw for sale here locally, two or three years ago.

Norm,
Do you plan to add the center three lights to your F250 CS or no?

Years ago, I owned a '63 F100 with two outside cab clearance lights as you described. I liked the look. They also helped keep the hay bales centered on the cab and from sliding off the roof with it was hay-hauling season!!!! Ahhh yes, the days of youth................

BarnieTrk; I'm probably going to stick with the two. It's how it came and I think I'll leave it... I kinda like like it and you don't see it as much. But two or five, cab lights look good.
