my newbie question

Post by ICEMAN6166 »

seems it has been a lifetime since the yahoo days when i first found slick 60s.

thanks to everyone for making this a great place to hang out.

yahoo and msn are long gone, dont remember how much i posted there.

here now for post #4000 (all with one typing finger) is my original newbie question:

why is all that cold air coming in thru the little rectangular holes in the kickpanels ?

Some trucks never came with them, (covers over the bolt holes) but I would be surprised if them trucks were delivered to Alaska. Congrats on 4 G's Brian!
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

LOL, I actually had tape over the ones on my old 66 because I didn't have a set of covers.

Here's to at least 4000 more Ice.  :woohoo: :rocker: My slick leaks air in so many places the access holes are the least of my worries. When I get to them I'll let you know what I find.

I was thinking it had more to do with where you live and the amount of snow you have there, running the floor boards on top of the snow. And for those little rectangle holes, I always thought they were covered with duct tape.

Congrats on #4000 Brian, I think I have some catching up to do.

You probably post less in the summer months(RIGHT)? I bet you be outside more. CONGRATS ON 4K ICE! you should give that finger a break and use a different one for the next 4K.

iceman how many times have you seen that same basic question asked scince then? you know they make gloves without the finger tips. that way you can keep your hands warm and type with 2 fingers like me.

all my trucks have the little covers over the holes now.
most came with duct tape but a few did have the covers.
never know where Alaska trucks come from, though i think any new ones sold here likely were from the San Jose plant as its the closest one.

cold air

Post by f100jim »

Hey Iceman , Congradulations. That's alot of peckin ' do you still have a finger print left on that finger? lol I thought I was the only one with one finger typing skills? You got me to thinking. I went down stairs and looked on the 65 (no hinges in the way) There's a piece of foam rubber at the top of the panel between the cowl/vent chamber and door piller right below the windshield pillar. Anybody else noticed it?
