Powdercoating a frame

Hey all... made a few calls today to places around my area that offer powdercoating, I found one that can sandblast and powdercoat the frame for around 500 bucks. Now considering all the labor i would need to do and the cost of the material i was going to use, it sounds like the way to go! Guess what i'm asking is...this a good price?

If so, I'm taking it to them
this place has a 20 foot bake oven!

Sounds pretty good. There's a guy on here that recently paid around $300 just to have a bed sandblasted.

Paid $800 for one frame & $1000 for another one two different places. Both were black paint not powder coat.

Bill 500 for blast and PC is a good deal.. Hook me up with the guy to do my frame...

It's Tuscon, give it another month and it'll be 160 square mile bake oven.... :D

Bill: Which place is it? There used to be at least three powdercoat places in town, but I have lost track of who is still around.

Anderson Painting contractors, they are in the phone book.

as soon as i get the cab and wheels off it's going to them... along with all the other parts i want done

I paid $550.00 in Houston for my 66 longbed. The color was matte black. Take a look at the pics in the projects and builds section (burgundy 66). Alot of work to tear it down to the frame but the results were worth it.

I got mine done at Southwest Powder Coating in Phoenix. They did the frame, rear diff, crossmembers, a-arms, springs, spindles and all the misc. parts. They charged me $550 in late 2002. I am very happy with what they did. They sandblasted and powdercoated in a hammertone finish for that price. I assume that they are still down on 59th Ave.

Thats a very good deal!! I would take advantage of that deal. We used to do a lot of powdercoating at my dads old shop. We powdercoated a bunch of frames, suspension parts, and numerous other nic nak items. A motorcycle frame wold cost about $400-500 bills but you won't regret the powdercoat it will last for years and years to come. Its like sealing your frame from all the things that cause rust. Basicly its like sealing it in a really hard plastic.

Back in 2004 I got my '67 SWB frame powdercoated, as well as the core support, radius arms, I-beams, front springs, hood hinges and transmission crossmember...plus all the suspension components for my '67 442...and the total bill only came to $222. I got it done locally at a large galvanizing plant, and just happened to arrange it for a slow time.

hey bill. i have a buddy who builds custom bikes out of coolidge. he gets all of his powder coating and sand blasting done for free at the florence prison. these are high dollar bikes with beautifuly powder coated wheels and frames. i could ask my buddy if he knows if the "boys in the big house" need some practice on some truck parts for free.

500.00 for blasting and PC is pretty fair. (as long as its done properly)

I blasted my own frame and the PC cost me 200.00 (for frame)
I made another trip with inner fenders, rear axle housing, radius rods, spring brkts, backing plates for 150.00.

Cannot remember the place in phx that did PC for me but it chipped super easy.

I had my 03 F150 Lightning frame powdercoated locally in the closest match we could get to the Sonic blue. $800 for frame, rear axles, rear leafs, front spindles, sway bars, front coil springs and other odds and ends including rolling frame stand.

I bet that looks pretty good, but Ive never liked colors that Almost Match.... I would have gone for a different complimenting color....

Since you can see the frame through the rear wheel wells I wanted to use the blue to blend in better. Only the frame is blue, all the suspension parts are silver or black.
