Official Pate 2009 Swap Meet information

Post by PFM-64f100 »

It's that time of year again. :D

The Pate Swap Meet at Texas Motor Speedway is April 30 to May 3rd.

The "host" Hotel is Best Western in Roanoke Tx. About $75 per night and only 5 miles away from TMS.

http://www.hotels-rates.com/hotelavail. ... filiateid=

This year I have put together the following schedule or what is currently planned. I am still having a Friday Night get together out at my house for some food, drinks and BS. If you want a map to my house I will have them at Pate or you can PM me for a copy. If you want to bring something bring it. I will have BBQ Hambugers, chicken and some potato salad. I will also have drinks.

Schedule:
Pate Swap Meet
My (Chris W) Schedule

Thursday 4-30-09
8:30 AM – Snooty Pig for Breakfast
9:30 AM – Arrive and Setup at Pate
12:30 am – Babe’s Chicken Lunch. Come one come all…
5:00-6:00 pm – Pack up and Leave

Friday 5-1-09
7:30 AM – Snooty Pig for Breakfast
8:30 AM – Arrive and Setup at Pate
5:00 PM - Pack up and head to my house for BBQ and BS session. Come one come all I will hand out maps at Pate

Saturday 5-2-09
7:00 AM - Snooty Pig for Breakfast
8:00 AM – Arrive and Setup at Pate (get there early if your driving (vendors) in they will shut the gate early on Saturday)
6:00 PM – Pack up and rest

Sunday 5-3-09
Who the heck knows… It has been fun and a Long Weekend. Most people pack up this day some bargains can be found but it’s mainly a ghost town by mid afternoon.

All of the above is bound to change but shouldn’t change by to much…. If I’m not around come sit a spell anyhow…. 

Pate Spots we all have this year is:

Zone 3 – Block 78 – Row 11 & 12 – spaces 914-929

To everyone that bought there spaces via me this year, I have mailed your stuff to you today so they should be there by weeks end. Together we have 15 spaces for fun this year. If anyone wants in on the fun next year (as far as getting your own spaces) let me know I will have to have the money before June 1st.

This is some pictures of the fun from Last year in case you have forgotten.

What should I bring?

Post by bluebolt »

Since this is my first time hanging out with you guys what should I bring?

Grille? Or if someone is already bringing one should I bring propane or charcoal? I have a couple of EZ pop-up canopies, should I bring them as well? Folding tables? Obviously bring some folding chairs. Will bring the mini-bike for "after hours" riding since I understand it's a no-no during hours of swap meet. Anything else I should bring?
I guess lots of money for all the stuff I find LOL.
Will be bringing some parts, don't know what yet.

No private porta potty for us. I can't see spending the $80 to get one. Bring the EZ pop-up canopy for sure also (shade is good, I will have 2 of them) make sure you have something to tie it down to because we can not stake it down.

On Saturday I do plan on having a grille out there but I only have a charcoal grill and would like to have a Propane one to use. There is places to eat there but prices are not cheap as normal. I might bring some of the stuff from Friday nights cook out if there's any thing left. The folding tables would be help full but normally we just lay the stuff out on the ground but if you want to bring them thats cool.

When you get your package read the rules I don't think there going to let you ride the mini bike (unless it is electric) even after hours. TMS doesn't allow motorized items (atv's, motor bikes that kind of thing) to be ridden in there grounds. I know crazy but some type of insurance thing.

Bring some drinks I will have some stuff to drink but if you want a certain thing to drink then bring it. I will have Water each day I have 2 5gal dispensor's that I will fill each day, plus the Ice chest with drinks in it. They perfer we use cans but I have never been hassled for bottles then again they disapper when the law comes around.

Oh and don't forget the sunscreen I and a lot of others get burned each year. That's never fun but it sure does look funny... :D

It starts in 3 days... Yea.. I've been working my butt off this weekend trying to get everything ready that I have to for this. I love doing it and I am almost ready.

For those coming to my place for the Friday Night BBQ this is what I will be feeding you.

1. Chicken and Sirloin Hamburger
2. Brotwersts
3. Potato Salad
4. I will have ICE Tea, water, Some beer I need to check how much

If you want to bring anything your more than welcome to I think I will need some help on the desert and drink side but it is not necessary for anyone to bring something. If you have a flavor of beer you like bring some if you want.

Of course remember your chairs I will have some seats but I'm sure I won't have enough.

:!:
Weather outlook is up in the air this year. I have seen the weather forecast change 5 times this weekend alone. I would suggest to prep for possibility of rain then again I havn't seen any rain yet just a bunch of wind. We will see this is Texas all we have to do is wait it out if we don't like it. :?:

Also for those who come out Friday I do have my electronic speedometer demo to show you. I am about 1/2 done with this R&D project. Here soon I will be doing the next step which is a VSS sensor then road testing. This is gonna be fun but that's all I can say about this R&D project right now.

Your weather forecast looks better than the last one I saw. It showed 40-59% chance of thunderstorms. I'm looking for some 100 SPF Sunscreen :-) or I'll be a crispy critter.

Bluebolt and I will be arriving around 2 on Thursday (+/-). Who else is coming in on Thursday? Looks like we'll miss the Babe's Chicken Lunch.

Maybe we can hook up with some other members for dinner and some "adult beverages". Maybe the guys at the "host hotel" will have a "hospitality" room or "truck bed"?

We're at the Fairfield Inn N. Fossel Creek, about 15 miles south of the track. The host hotel was full.

My cell is: 318-651-8313.

Although Bluebolt and I didn't get in until about 2, we had a great afternoon. Met a bunch of the guys (PFM-64F100, Truckrat, Wolfee(?), Jeepbut, among others. If there was this much activity today, can't imagine what tomorrow will be like. Meeting the Slick 60's crew at the Snooty Pig for breakfast. Great way to start the day.

Saturday was a blast, most of the Houston crew headed home about 1:30pm. About 2:30 PM we had a turd floater come and put a end to Pate for this year. I think we got about 1in of rain in an hour and it sure was fun to play in but I was soaked to the bone. The traffic leaving a was major jam because of the rain so a few of us just hung around and got wet...

The group picture for this year.

For all the pictures I have here is the link. I really didn't use the camera much this year shame on me... lol. I know there were a lot of camera's there this year.
