Yeah, nobody even notices a corvette in Bowling Green. Couple times a years, a corvette will be a common as a Camry.

Nice looking project. At least with yellow she will be seen and less chance of getting run into.
Welcome from Phoenix.

Well...between you and your retired bodyman friend, you guys got some skills there. Don't ya? Very nice truck...although some....might differ with your opinion on the "old-man tan"!

You're obviously a good Dad and your daughter is a lucky kid.

Enjoying your build. Keep those pics coming.

Yeah, you actually made the tan work. I have another restorod that is in original paint and it's almost the same color as silly putty - tan with a pink blush. The paint was too good to scrap and the original 1965 dealership sticker was a great conversation piece. ANYWAY, a set of nice wheels and tires and a 2.5" drop in the front and the car looked cool in "old-man-tan" This was TRUE old-man tan cause I got it from the estate of a 97-year-old man.

Yeah, spent a few hours on it yesterday. The rearend is almost ready to install. Gotta add some shock mounts. to the housing and I'm having new bearings installed on the axles.

By next weekend, there will be a rolling chassis!

Welcome from California. I've been watching this thread from work and have really enjoyed it so far. It looks like your daughter will have a very nice truck built with lots of love and attention to detail, if not a little bright. That's one sharp looking Rambler!

Welcome, nice work so far! Have you figured out what shocks your using on the rear? How much suspension travel do you have? I have the same set up in the rear and did a 3" drop on the front axle stock springs with the eyes reversed. I must say suspension travel is limited front and rear.

The frame is notched 2.5 inches and I have custom shocks. I think the front ones are gonna be too short because they are 6" shy of reaching the mounts. The company INSISTS that they're right, even after I sent a picture, but they also said that if they don't work once I have full weight in the suspension they'll replace them even if it takes a year.

Okay, sorta crossing genres here, but if the shock is that short - when you go over a high spot at speed & the springs & shocks extend - wouldn't the shocks be acting as a suspension travel limiter (I've seen guys include straps to stop their 4x4 socks from over extending)?

Seems like you could damage or destroy the shock....
