When I bought my 66 many years ago only one rear wheel had brakes that were working

You can get a new door tag for the truck from Marti Auto works. I order one from them in October and just got it two weeks ago!! Had to call them several times but it looks great.

First of welcome ,it's always good to see another 4x4. I looked at your photobucket pictures and I think I have a theory on the bed question. In one of the frame pic's you can see some bolt holes in the frame.It reminded me of what a buddy of mine did with his 64 4x4. Since he hated the "wrong " bed he did some measuring and moved his axle back 9 inches , got a new driveshaft and swapped on a 2x4 bed. It looked good and worked, but it did screw with a few people when they saw the grill, leaf springs and 292. Like Ice said with the battery under the floor carpeting will be a pain. I put a 2x4 inner fender on my 64's rightside so I have a dual battery set up and can jump people without pulling up the floor mat.

Geees I've been looking and I can't see any bolt holes! HAHAHA now its gonna bug me tell I can find them

On the 2 pics of the rear end you can see the bolt holes in the upper left of the photo in one of the shots. Another thing in both photos of the rear it looks like the axle to frame bump stops have not been moved back to match the axle position. Unless you are going to do some serious off roading or load it up very heavy the bump stops is probably not a serious thing but should probably be addressed eventualy.

Yep, the axle has been moved back, good eye. If you measured your wheelbase, you'd find it was 129" and not the regular 120".

Im gonna go down to a honeyhole full of 50s and 60s ford trucks and see if he has the Right wrong bed for it! Guy that has the stuff is in his 80s, He makes Custom Driveshafts n stuff

How Tall are the 250 4x4 sopost to be? like from the bottem of the door? This truck is taller then both my 71s f100 F350 DRW

I got to thinking about something! I have a 9inch ford out of 1961 F100 it has the helper leafsprings on it Wonder if they will fit onto the springs I have! I have some ideas for that 9inch

Just leave it the way it is ,it looks good !! That way you can impart the knowlege you've gotten here to those who don't know LOL I personaly like the way it looks now. It would be a good match for my 66 F-100 4x4, like a big older brother.

That won't work, your rear axle ratio has to match your front axle ratio and 5 bolt vs 8 bolt....not worth the effort. Best to keep what you've got.

i think he was just wanting to use the helper springs which will work and the 9" for something else

I don't "know" how hi they are supposed to be but mine won't fit into my garage with 255/85/16 tires on it and the garage door is 6'11" clear and the clearance lights would hit the door frame. Kinda like it that way too. If I "have to " get it in I just pull the valve stems out of the tires let them down to 5 psi and waddle it in.

Thought the inside step stopped at 64. Regardless of whether it is a mixed truck, looks cool - enjoy!
