This is the key. LMC really is just a JC Whitney-like warehouse supplier.

Y'all can buy stuff from whomever you like. LMC has a nice catalog, and I use it for reference often (much easier to find stuff than in Carpenter's). But they aren't on the list of vendors I recommend when talking to a new Slick owner.

I learned from the past in dealing with other brands of weirdo collectible vehicles that it's always better to buy from someone who makes the stuff/works on them. The price may be higher but the quality is better, the advice is usually good (and free), and if you develop a relationship you'll find you may get preferred customer treatment.

I bought some rear parking brake cables and they came at the wrong length and had a split in the middle, with s rubber hose and screw clamps on them. After a few phone calls, several email sections and taking pictures to send them, and I still have the cables that do not work. The last coule emails seemed to be simply ignored and I had to buy the right cables from Dennis-Carpenters. This was my first and only experience with customer support

I have bought many other items from them, but several of the items seemed fairly cheaply made.

It just seems really hit and miss for part quality and I wouldn't look forward to calling support again.

amazingly enough, LMC has not contacted me yet to discuss issues, surprise! I will however stay on it and fill them in.

They chose to go to overseas suppliers... so their quality and therefore their market share will suffer.
Some of us prefer to have an option to buy American. They probably dont care as long as their profit margin is respectable.

I also have ordered two large orders both over $1,000.00 from LMC. So far the only thing I had a problem with was a couple of reinforcements that didn't fit the truck and a floor piece that I have no idea what truck it belongs too. But I haven't had any problems with the product I have received so far. I did have a few problems last year with their weather strips I had purchased for my brother in laws truck. Still can't close the doors with out slamming them. But I watch this site to know what not to order from them and what the problems are with the product. It would be nice if they would use this feed back to improve on the quality of some of the parts they are receiving from their vendors ( pretty neat tool I think)

But, keep posting the good and the bad out there.....it really helps up slickster's to stay out of trouble at times.

You can pass on from me their front bumpers don't fit properly! It's been said here before but it's curved incorrectly.

When you order big like that and get sent all the way here, it's a REAL pia to send it back! I was very disappointed and haven't ordered from them since.

I ordered a gas tank and sending unit. There is a restriction in the tank a stock 352 will probialy never notice. The sending unit did not read properly. They were easy to deal with and sent me the same part with no return. After some tweeking the second unit it is usable. 4 gallons after float bottoms out and about the same for full. I take no political stand but, I try to only buy MADE IN USA. With so many out of work it doesnt help to support irresponsible companies that do not support there local ecconomy, no matter what piece of ground they are on.

I have used LMC for both Classic Chevy Trucks and now a Ford. Quality has been an issue, so they are a last resort for me. The Dennis Carpenter stuff is simply better quality, and I have had good lock with Mac's as well.

You get what you pay for

I have bought parts for my 64 f100 and used parts from them for other brands of trucks for customers. When I have complained about fit or shipping cost I got (gee I haven't had any other complaints. Well, I have worked in the body shop trade sence the mid 60's, and if we had crap like this to work with, we never would gotten anything fixed!!!

Almost everything I have ordered from them has sucked...

Tail light gaskets.... Sucked _ Don't fit
Door handle gaskets Sucked _ Don't fit
Lock set... The ignition lock fell apart as I tried to install it... (where they key it)

I rather pay for DC stuff...

I ordered the same Tail light gaskets from DC..... What A difference!

lets just say i got a phone call,,,,,,,, Ken up in Canada thanks for the converastion @ Charlotte Auto Fair,,, and following week got it straighten out,,,,, Ken I sent that part out should have it by now via Pony Express or in winter time dog sled
