$50 hr? You'd be better off hauling it up here, spend the weekend and we do it.
This is why I do all my own work - I'd probably have 5K in my 1/2 done repairs otherwise.

what bluebolt said. that rocker trim did not want to come off, but the impacto did it's job quite well.

greg, i sold my 68 so now i'm stuck. funny how things work like that. i'm going to do some calling around. and i've even thought about buying a welder and doing it myself, but i need to get it done soon. my neighbors are starting to make comments. lol that's the worst part about not having a garage-no where to hide my mess.

ezer, buy a welder and practice your welding and do it yourself. When you get done, it will probably save you money and you will have the welder when its done to use for other projects.
Throw a camoflouged(?) cover over and maybe nobody will notice it.

Chris, I'll treat you real good on my little CH arch welder, I replaced all the cheap parts on it with real good stuff. Little bugger does pretty well for a stick welder. I have quite abit of stuff to go with it, some rod etc.
You can pick one up just like it at Walmart but you'll be well over double the $95 price tag by the time it's setup like this one. It would do you fine for patches & cab mounts etc. It just was way too slow for me filling seams and some of the other stuff I am going to do plus I can't use it for aluminum.

i managed to get six of the eight bed bolts out tonight after work. i was amazed they came out. i can't get to the back two yet, as the bumper bracket bolts are in the way. they are soaking as i type. i hope i can get those out.

Sorry Blue, I did know what it was!, I was just drawing attention to the "new" toy!, as I`m sure we all find reasons to buy them!

i love new toys alan. a friend once told me to feed my tool box lots of tools and it would continue to grow. lol
how's this for a redneck working environment? there is a chance for showers on saturday and my welder is coming up to install the mounts so i wanted to be prepared.
i'm sure my neighbors love me now.

That red inset in the mouldings looks really cool, now you just need a set of red steelies & baby moons to go with it.

I am sure the neighbors love how you placed parts in front of and behind the truck, to make the mess look larger than what it is. The bright blue over the truck is also an attention getter to the folks passing thru, that somehow missed the carefully arranged parts......I hate my neighbors and you just gave me an idea....

Chris, you have a golden opportunity here to clean up & POR (or similar) the underside of that truck. Amount of work wise that will leave you 40% done with the sheetmetal work.
Plan further ahead than me though, I decided Wednesday I was going to need some POR this weekend so I bought it at a local paint store - $49 for a quart.

There you go buddy!
Take a little extra to do the hard to get back to stuff right. Heck you can work on (formerly? lol) shiny side later pretty easy if you fix the bottom right first - smart move!
