anybody used this type of 'sand blaster'

Post by slick4x4 »

has anyone used one of these type of 'sand blasters'
the disadvantage i can think of is flash rust with the water
the advantage would be not needing a big air compressor
disadvantage would not be able to 'reuse' the sand
advantage would be not create heat

Pretty cool if it works. I would almost think it would be messier than a conventional one though. Metal prep will take care of flash rust which you would have even without the water - just not enough it to see.

I was talking to a guy the other week who has something similar to that (I guess) and uses soda. He works in the oil and gas industry and uses this for some of the equipment. Haven't been able to get in touch with him again for more info or to "borrow" his rig.

I don't know about that one , but years ago I used to use a 5 gal roll around craftsman,

and for ( Small Jobs ) I really liked the ( Cheap Bucket blaster ) instead of the better one.

The Bucket baster used to cost about ( 20 dollars ) and it sucks out of a five gallon

bucket , they sell them every where ! Try one .

P.S. make sure you wear ( Breather and Ear Plugs )

I used the Medium duty sand blasters from this place. http://www.ultimatewasher.com/sandblaster.htm

I blasted my frame under the 64 and it worked out good. There was a little flash rust but I used the blue lightning metal prep and it took care of the flash rust. worked out good just don't use it when wearning shorts...
