1963 F100 Ice Cream Truck Project

Post by Nogo »

Hi,

I just joined and hoping to find some helpful info in getting my latest project up and running.

It's a 1963 F100, 223, 3 on the tree, Ice Cream Truck!

It needs a carb, air cleaner, rear brake work, steering box...and whatever else I discover as I dig into it. So if anyone near me in Madison, Wisconsin has some parts, let me know.

It's a Florida truck so the body isn't too bad. I Hope to at least get it driveable this summer and work on the shiny stuff this fall and spring.

Below is a picture.

Thanks,
Craig

Cool! Pun intended!

If I had any of those parts I would swap them for Nutty buddy cones!

Looks like it's going to be a neat resto, guarantee everyone will be your friend at the car shows on a hot day if you have it loaded up with popsicles and ice cream bars!

Welcome to the site. And like Pat said it would be cool to have it at SS4.. Don't worry if it's not finished we would love to see it in any condition. I know I would like to see it. Keep us updated on progress..

Small world! I called on that truck a while ago. Talked to the owner in Florida. How'd you get it back to Wisconsin? He said the gas tank was junk. Glad to see it went to someone on the site.

Welcome!!!

Great truck!!

You'll want to think about brakes. In 63, one year only, the slicks had single sided wheel cylinders. You can upgrade to a dual piston wheel cylinder or even disc brakes.

Not to be repetitious...but VERY COOOOOOOOOL! Be sure to post an introduction on the "Truck Talk" section. Lots of folks don't have the time to get over to the Projects section very often and we wouldn't want them to miss out on your unique slick. Oh yeah, welcome from Louisiana
