Those old MG's are awesome little cars! My brother has a '61 that been sitting inside for about ten years now. It runs great but needs paint and interior done. He's just always been too busy to get to it.
Boy, that brings back some memories. I had a 62 Austin Healey Sprite (same vehicle, different badging) when I was homeported in Yokosuka , Japan in the mid 60's. Great, fun little car and was perfect for the narrow (and I mean narrow) roads in the small towns and the Japanese countryside.
If you understand what you’re doing, you’re not learning anything.

those are the only pics that i know of of that car. it was fun, but was always breaking down. being 16, i just wanted something to cruise in so i sold it and bought a 77 pontiac ventura.
we did finish the body and interior and put some "true spoke" wheels on it. it was pretty cool looking. no roll up windows and the top had to be folded up and put in the "boot".
948 ci of pure fury. lol. i did have a high lift cam and a weber carb for it that i never got around to installing.

heres my first truck lol never owned a car had this 65 since 01 when i was 11 sinished and drove it till i was 17 by that time i put the 390 and fmx and did the frame off when i was 16 painted it myself. i thought it looked good at the time but now i see flaws but oh well
that's cool slickwilly. i don't think i owned a truck until i was 24 or so and it was a slick too. you used to be able to buy these things for about 500 and run the rest of their life out of them for about two years or so and buy another.

My first car:
I drove it so much I actually wore the tires (solid) off the rear wheels. I was so upset when my parents junked it. Scarred forever, I was. So I bought one on Ebay about six years ago and it sits in our family room.
My first actual vehicle was a 1971 Jeep Commando. This isn't the exact one, but it's about identical except for the wheels.
While it was my first 'car', it was not what I wanted. This was a compromise from what I could afford and what my father wanted. I think he saw me as an opportunity to get another Jeep after his much lamented 1957 Willys CJ5 poofed it's engine. The car I'd really wanted, and the first one I bought with my own money was this:
This is actually #2. #1 was a $300 turd that didn't look much different than this one ($450!) #1 gave me much joy and pain for about 3 years until I tried to restore it and realized what a hopeless rust bomb it was. #2 did get restored by me and I owned it for over 20 years. The end result:
I have absolutely no pics of my first car whatsoever. My dad wouldn't let me buy a truck so I bought a '79 Dodge Challenger.(4cyl, 5 spd) It ran great but wasn't a truck. At 18 I bought my second vehicle with out needing dads name on the loan and this is it. [albumimg]4985[/albumimg] of course this was after I completely rebuilt it. My first truck. 1967 f-100, 240 3 spd converted to floor. Wish I would have kept it but family first..... Anthony
I don't have any pics of my first car;
1964 Chevy Bell Air 4 door,
lowered, duals, black steelies with baby moons and 283 & straight pipes
It was metallic tan with a cream colored roof.
Chris saw a pic of my 2nd car 1971 Camaro RS, I'll see if I can scan it and get it posted.
