Texas annual get together
Time for another of our annual get together's, but lets do it somewhere besides Houston this time.
Central Texas?
Bastrop, Lake Sommerville, Huntsville, Madisonville, or ???????
Houston always has a great turnout, but it leaves a lot of folks out that I'd really like to meet.
Log on to the Southwest Chapter and give us your opinion. If no one wants to do it, I'll plan it again.
Let me know what you think.
If we travel, make it on the weekend and early so we have time to visit and to get back home.

I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.

I think Central Texas is the ideal place. Smithville is thirteen miles east of Bastrop and has a great park right on Hwy. 71. It is easy to access from either direction. There is plenty of shade and tables for picnicking. Smithville is in the heart of the Magapolis of Houston, Austin and San Antonio. Just let me know of any needs that you may have and I am sure we can meet them. I belong to the Chamber here and also on the city zoning committee so I can get just about any thing we may need.

I hope I always stay crazy, because I know if I ever become sane, it will drive me crazy.

I like the idea of central Texas. We already do north Texas for Pate, and see most of the Houston area members at Conroe. Mid November or early December work best for me.
I might get to drive my slick to this one, assuming all goes well with the AOD swap I'm in the middle of right now.

I'm open for anything. Let me know what to bring for eats or will we meet at a restaurant? I'd like to meet some of the members from north Texas too. I won't be in a Slick though. DOH !!

Ladies and gentlemen, Michelle has graciously offered to host the annual Southwest Chapter get together in central Texas near Austin.. Please reply to her directly and let her know what the consensus is for the date of the event.
We can't please everyone with a particular date, but we can try to get as many to be there as possible.
Halloween is not really a good idea, and Thanksgiving is out, so make your own choice.
Thanks to Michelle for being in charge, and to everyone else who wants to participate.
Michelle, what can we do in December??? Maybe we can wait until then.,
I think the best bet is for everyone to bring what ever they want to grill and eat, and that way we'll be able to accomidate everyone who shows up with what they like..... I'm bringing pork chops and potato salad.... maybe.
It does NOT require driving your Slick to be there. But bring pictures.
If you're a TEXAS member and not on our e-mail list, chime in now. We want you to be there. Send me and Michelle your e-mail address and we'll add you to the list.
O.K. cupcake, its up to you from now on. I'll help when I can.
BTW, Oklahoma was a blast and I scored some good stuff..

I can probably make the 21st to represent Louisiana!
I replied to the email, but I'll reply here too. The 21st is best for me and it looks like I'll be driving my slick to this one.
The AOD is in, but I've decided to swap converters. The guy I bought it from was running a non-lockup type converter. With the added stall the RPM drop in overdrive was barely less than my C6 in drive. I'm having a custom high stall lockup converter made and should have it installed before the trip.

I just added a poll to the Southwest Chapter. If you plan on coming to the Central Texas Slick Showdown please go there and vote. Right now it seems that most are looking at the 21, that would be a good weekend for me as well. Yes, we have public barbecue pits, so bring the food on.
