Different set up for back up lights

Post by 6166 Junkyard Dog »

Here they used the T-Bird Back up lights on the back of this slick which like I said was used on T-Birds as well as the cargo lights on the 67-72 Trucks in one of the step bumpers advertising the dealership back then

Another idea that looks vintage is stop lamp off a styleside fridge (57-60) bed with a clear lens.
Little round dude and looks like it belongs in the rear panel.

Here is the back up light set up I used on my big Slick. The transmission has a reverse light switch in it, but I chose to wire the back up lights to a cargo light switch that I got out of a 69 F100 so I could use the light when out of the truck. Since the first picture was made I have added a reciever hitch so I can pull my travel trailer. The light really comes in handy when hooking up the travel trailer at night.

thats what i did for my 66 f250 4x4 but i used the clear lens on the original taillight and wired up so both filaments come on at once, then installed 4" led taillights below.
opposite of this

I think you can use the 57-58 front turn signal lens in the 57-63 wrongbed hole for a clear lens. One of my favorite custom but looks stock tricks was putting another set of taillights under the originals like in that last photo. Most folks would not even realize it was not syock.

on those size lights I believe you can get the im LED'S Like 3" or 4" roundlight

We have these on our F-450 truck and do put out some light,, They light up all the way to back of our trailer, then back at least another 100' or so,, Made out of Stainless Steel which all they are is the KC OFF Road lights, very bright

I have been looking at a lot of options to put backup lights on my 66. I may steal some of yours. I want back up and a brighter light to operate by a switch too.
