Who likes big trucks in the snow?

I'm out here workin' it in the former Soviet Union whenever the snow falls (all the time) in addition to workin' the normal line. In a pretty pimp ass International too...

You always seem to post a pic of you in the set - your grin makes it look like you are enjoying yourself. Looks like you get to see some pretty neat stuff. Where in the former USSR are you at?

No fair, dude, You are having to much fun.
Get your ass in an old broken down junker that won't start in the winter time. Workin your ass off trying to get it to start so you can make it to work. Hopin it will start, so you can get home with somethin to feed the kids. If the wife hasn't found a ride outa there, packed up the kids and left your frozin ass by the time you get there. I'm sure Ice can relate to that kind of fun.
I did enjoy the pictures as i'm setting here, and thank you for sharing. I used to enjoy the cold weather when I was young, and it still doesn't bother me as much as most people. The old man didn't believe in heating the old 36x8 foot long alma trailer we lived in, other than to keep the water lines from freezing. Usually he kept the window open in his bedroom. Mostly we three kids huddled up for warmth. the water lines froze quite often in the trailer even with underpinning.

You're welcome, not too bad here actually. Compared to my last summers paid vacation with 140deg, body armor, mortars, and freakin' sand.

Heat wave today of 30, so I was actually in a tshirt workin' a launch of a jet. The night snowstorm featured above was -35.

Heck yeah havin' a great time. It's like it's not even fair to be playin' with the coolest airplane in the world of heavies, and bankin' the deployment dough. Well thats what I tell myself to not focus on the negatives of not being home. Every day is seeing something interesting loadin out and figuring how to get it done with not always the handiest support.

I've done basket a few times just to know I can do it, but since the truck is on my cert roster and license it's what I get "stuck" with. I'm the truckster hillbilly of my group anyway so if it has wheels they put me in it to get it moved.

That would be me also if it has wheels I'm all over it.

So doin' a deice job and caught the first shot from my mirror.

"**** we're on fire."

But turns out the IP pump went south on the German Deuz diesel that runs the hydro and fluid pumps back there. Still had pressure though, so pressed on with the mission then turned the truck in.

Loaner we stole from the KC135s here is an older non extended reach that makes our Ttails tricky to get too, but gotta use what we can. Funny to hear a T444e under the hood to. Makes me miss my 7.3L powerstroke. Also miss the air ride seat of our nice deicer. Can still make it look cool though with my pimpin' safety 'script sunglasses.

just noticed, the first truck doesnt even have a odometer, just hour counter... Talk about IMPLEMENT! lol

Just have to hit the button and it scrolls around all different kinds of functions and displays.

Had to do some more deicin' as the snow and cold hasn't really stopped yet.

Ole Detroit powered tow tractor with a heavy push back screamin' for all it's worth.

And the other week I had a new toy show up. Been requesting a backup deicer for awhile and the mountains of paperwork I did finally came through with a brand new Freightshaker. Big girl came airlifted straight from the factory and she's pretty sweet. Only complaint is it don't have the air ride seat that the International does, and for some reason the allison auto shifter pad only lets me select one through three gears. So I only top out at 18. Not sure if it's actually only a three speed. The international has a five speed and she can do 45. Oh well.

In the barn fillin' 'er up.

Then to my suprise i see this girl brought back into service by the Tanker side of the house. Thought it was funny like an old timer tellin the new punk parked next door how it used to be done back in the day.

Anyway it's a neat truck. Ford's own time capsule till whenever they made these. '90 I think? 'This one is an 87.

Then saw this guy last week over by the HVAC peoples, wanted to take her for a spin also.

So the other day we had one more squall that came through and dumped some cake batter snow that doesn't really like to come off, so double teamed it with me in the new Freightshaker and the International goin' at it too.

Hopped out the cab of the truck to use the mini hose to spray the ice off the gear door hinges to keep them from binding up. Then my partner up in the basket saw that and did a quick blast of the leading edge snow right down on top. Made sure to not have a smooth ride for the basket and boom the rest of the time.

Oh well, hope it stops snowing soon.

I see an Antonov AN2 in the back round of one pic.
Any other old Russian aircraft hiding around there? If you have time I'd sure like some pics.
If you can find a MiG 3 or MiG 15 you can mail me that would be cool too, I'll pay the post - lol.
On a more serious note Adrian - Russian made RC model plane kits - you know of a place you can get them there?
