especially since you had the motor apart to redo the heads

but it has has that cool DYNAMITE under the hidden surfaces!

3 questions I have. Why didn't they put bac in the original padded dash? In 86 you could still find decent padded dashes then. Or at least here you could. If the grill was stainless and in good shape why would you chrome it? And 3rd They say they took so much effort and worked so hard restoring it. If so why didn't they take out those plastic plugs in the door area. You can see they left them in and painted them.

Curious as to why you would have a $1.98 item like this on your steering wheel if it wasn't cracked..

Did they ever (besides the XL) put anything stock larger than a 390 in slicks? From my understanding the answer would be- NO!

Its a 65. A dash pad is optional equipment and i see no holes along the top of the dash near the windshield for the aluminum trim so it probally never had one.

Has new ball joints too!

As to a 428.... No way to tell them apart frm a 352 without a bore and stroke check.. seeing as a 428 used a 4.130 bore it is the only way...Or remove the freeze plugs and 428 is cast into the one bank of cylender walls, some times but not always. Heads should be C8AE6090 with the split pattern exhaust port.

That's what I meant.. how can you take the heads off and not notice they are big valve heads? or the bigger bore? or the external balancer...

Jealous.. I am jealous of so many trucks in our club, that it almost don't stick anymore.

I think the biggest engine that they put in the 65's was a 352.

I guess if you bought it and didnt like it you could blow it up with all the the DYNAMITE under the carpet hehehehe, And you probably also need some kinda special license from the ATF to even drive it!! lol

Looks the spare rims and hub caps are wrong as well -- those are innie rims and the later falcon style hub caps fit on outie style (later) rims. Minor point.

Generally, I suspect that that is a decent truck to bid on. God knows, even the buy it now price is less than I have in mine. Course, I was aware that I was wasting money all along, so my final bill should not be used as a guide!

Oh -- the front bumper is too wide -- its not original, but seems likely to be the later bumpside bumpers that are available (its what I have too).

Someone new buy it and drive it to slickstock 08 -- I'll kick in $20 for gas and let you park it in my shed at night for good measure!! Then we can see if its really as nice as it looks......

if you look at the oil bath aircleaner it says 352 on it this guy is a flipper and a boob to boot that is way to much coin for that ride

Like someone else said too much money for the truck, but if I ever get mine that nice body and paint wise I will have way more than the current bid into mine. I undoubtably put more than I planned into the motor/transmission, but that was my priority.

I think I saw this same truck listed on e bay a few months ago by a guy in the Carolinas. That seller had it with a 3 speed OD and claimed it was a 428. Still a real nice Slick I would love to own.
