from the belt line up they look good, but from the belt line down there is just too much car. they look really fat and cartoonish to me.

I agree! Their proportions are just a little off, like they need to be sectioned.

aaa!
turn the fuel gauge back on,
stuff the airbags back in the steering wheel and
a little bondo and she'll be just fine,
now for the serious case of Wipe Lash, I not sure

maybe that's how all these cars end up here

It's amazing how close the new Challenger matches a 71 in measurements (Saw this somewhere).
Some of them do look a little thick below the windline some don't - the car's lines are real sensitive to color/paint scheme.
I'd own one though - just like this;

maybe in overall measurements, but the old car didn't need 20's to look right from the waist down.

They might not look so thick from the waist down with a set of 15" and taller sidewalls.
That pink one is just hideous..........................

That pink challenger.... :barf: Good grief, what idiot thought THAT looked good. Ought to say "Mary Kay" on the door.
My wife Marla and I have an original 70 Challenger and I think they are much better looking than the new ones and they ARE in proportion. The new ones are also lead sleds. The SRT weighs in around 4100-4200 pounds where ours is a lighter 3400-3500 pounds. I'll take our old one anyday over one of those new ones, and those butt ugly chargers look like taxi cabs, not real chargers. They need to make the car that was originally built to be the charger. It had the coke bottle shape and was a two door. TR
