vintage drop tank art work

Post by azratrod »

i found this drop tank in the az desert about 5 years ago. it was a whole tank but the other half was crushed beyond repair. so i seperated the halves and hung the good half on my vaulted ceilings adjoining wall. after 5 years of hanging there i decided to take it down today and give it a good dusting and take some pictures.

see where the cut out is for the arm that connects the tank to the wing?

Weld some fins on it and make it stick out of your roof. I'd polish that sucker up all nice and shiny.

Looks like it should have some gang hooks hanging out the back of it!

Sort of looks like a great white shark !

I have a PRACTICE bomb I bought in Utah at a surplus dealer, during the 1970s. It was basically a 250 pound bomb shell tin that they filled with sand..dropped them for practice.. We drove home with it strapped to the roof of our 68 station wagon...How things have changed !
