Window channel kit question
Is there someone who sells a Window channel kit cheaper than almost 200.00?
Re: Window channel kit question
not that i have found...
Re: Window channel kit question
Yes there are cheaper nes out there, but be aware that quality counts. I've noticed that Carpenters prices have been steadily incresing on these kits, and noticed that the price is now 200$ on Ebay for his stuff. I will comment that the division bar is very costly, and some of the kits do not include the actual division bar and you have to rivet the pieces to your old bar, thus cutting costs but increasing difficulty. Carpenters stuff works, I can't comment on the other ones. Sorry, no names for cheaper but know there are some.

Thanks , that was what I was afraid of. I got tired of my ragged stuff hanging down and ripped it out, planning on ordering new ones. Then came the sticker shock and rattling windows LOL
Re: Window channel kit question
Dennis Carpenter's stuff is high priced... but you get what you pay for. Every experience I've had with them has been top notch. I got the complete kit to rebuild my doors.

$159 incl. division bars, but don't know who manufactures them...

To be honest, I just spent the big bucks on the Capenter's kit and wasn't impressed at all..... The division bars were very cheaply made, the only parts that I liked were the vent window rubber. Carpenter makes great rubber seals, the rest is the same as everyone else's, if you get my drift...

Got my set a few years back for 150. found them on ebay-someone that sells slick parts from Oklahoma City, really was'nt a bad set was surprised . actually been 6 years ago- I do see him listing parts from time to time on ebay. I think I still have the the billing in the garage- I'll check and let you know.

Re: Window channel kit question
I like the Vintiques, mainly due to the polished division bars, but, if looking to duplicate original, that might be a problem. I haven't seen Carpenter's, but the ones I've had experience with came in Vintiques packaging.
