Put Ruby in a car show today

Post by bmcgc »

The local mall had a little car show to benefit our four legged friends so the misses and I took the Slick and Stang down. $10 each to enter.

Three retired Air Force guys showed up in some nice Slicks. All FE's, ps, pdb, at, ac, and all paint and chrome. Very nice trucks, some mods I didnt care for, but those guys spent lots of time and money making them. Very clean and attention to detail.

Then there was Ruby, driveway paint job, patina and all. I was surprised, but more guys were looking at mine than the other three.

My misses 65 Stang was the only 6 banger there, likewise, lots of interest, lots of guys saying they had a Mustang or Falcon with a six back in the old days.

We stayed a couple hours, had lunch, went home and worked on the window tint for the west side of the house. I got one piece of Rubys headliner cut out and installed. It looks good, pics when I complete the job.
Over the hill and picking up speed!

Best shows are just like that.
I took my 1985 GT to the "Mustang Roundup" in Omaha one year.
(they did have trophies but they all only vote for the other members, lol)
There was another 85 GT there all modded up - had been in 5.0 Magazine.
My bone stock stock survivor car got the most attention of all the Fox cars.
It was a great time, I pretty much just sat and listened to people come by and tell stories like;
"My brother had one just like this! We used to..................."
I think the story tellers had as much fun as I did.
It was a great day.

Exactly how it is when you go to Pate it seems. We flock towards the cars that are drivers, modded out and look like they were just plucked off of a country road back in the 60s.
