I like these wheels

Post by bmcgc »

I would like them even better in white with some chrome trim rings and a regular center cap.

I will have to admit I am not fond of those . Honestly they took their old 80's fake wire wheels and removed the wire basket painted them rather than the chrome they were in the 80's and tossed a spider cap on them . I would rather have a more stock looking smoothy with a spider cap .

I think you are right. I looked at them and tried to think of where I had seen them before. They are the cheapo wire wheels without the basket and center cap to hold the basket on. Good eye!

Spark I domt imagine there were that many Cadi's running around Iowa in the 80's with those wheels missing their baskets :D. I however grew up in Tampa ,Fl. and saw " Hoopty's " with them pretty regularly :D.

Maybe thats why I like them, they looked familiar but I couldnt figure out why.

I bought a 75 Maverick that had teh fake wires and drove stright to Les Schwabs for some proper mags.

Pea green pinstripe around them might set them off.
Not overly fond of them just like that but they do have possibilities.
The spider cap works on them - just not enough.
I also bet they would look way different with a set of wide whites on them.

Wide whites and a different color would make a big difference.A chrome beauty ring would help also.

I bought a set of these last summer but it will be a while before I get them on. I got 15x5 fronts and 15x8 rear (or maybe 15x7, can't remember). I was going to do one or 2 gold pinstripes on them with staggered blackwalls to get a little rake. And bullet lugnuts.
