How many vehicles do you currently have?

Post by Slick Fan »

I've done a thread like this on other boards, that's always been fun. After "Papas66" posted a thread in the 'Western Region' of our board, it reminded me that I hadn't done a thread like that here...so here goes.

Here's a mental picture of my yard...
* '66 F100 that was my first vehicle. Awaiting restoration & never selling it.
* '65 F100 bought a couple years ago, in non-running mode. Got it from it's original owner.
* '70 Charger that I bought for our daily driver in '86. It's now my garage queen...awaiting a restoration, after the '66.
* '70 Charger parts car...but now I feel bad about parting it out any further. :?
* '84 Mustang convert 5.0/5-speed that needs a carb rebuild & a new top.
* '91 Exploder with 245,000 miles that needs practically every seal & gasket replaced under the hood.
* '89 Suburban 4x4 with a dead tranny. I'll fix it once I'm done being pissed at it.
* '76 F250 Supercab I got last year. It's the only registered truck right now.
* '99 Expedition is the wife's daily driver.
* '93 Dodge Shadow is my daily driver.
* '90 Yamaha V-max (there IS no substitute for a 'Max  )
* '70 Honda CT70 that's a conversation piece in my living room. :D
* '02 Yamaha Warrior 4-wheeler.
* '99 Texas Bragg flatbed trailer.

That doesn't include any of my kids cars.
Everything but the two DD's & the F250 is stored out of the elements. :)
My "Slickitis" affliction began here...

we do not have enough room on paper, Slick Fan do you like your Texas Bragg Trailer,, we have one we bought in 1998 and has at least 500,000 to 600,000 miles on it has carried many trucks etc. only broke one hub in all those miles since that was our main trailer fo west coast runs till I bought that Kaufman Trailer we have now might have been cheaper but it does show... You could only imagine what we carried on it, for the workmanship, being able waht we put the open trailers through I think Texas Bragg was well worth the money

I've been dilligently thinning my herd here lately. I must admit it feels really great. When I get done whacking on 1 next week,
I'll be down to 1 + 2 projects. Good thing y'all didn't ask this question at the beginning of the summer, Hah! I happened to go
on Google Earth 1 day after they had upped the "Res".

I was struck by the fact my nice place here was starting to look like a parking lot, salvage, or Junque Yard. It was scary.
I could see where I sat this on there, that on this and all, vehicles were like places to pile stuff on. I qwikly reduced that
number from 8 or 9 to 2 +2 projects.

Several things happened since, I have to mow a lot more grass, the place looks great, everything is now inside, I can still work
in my shop with plenty of room to spare, Plus my life has gotten better. Whenever Mamma + our nieghbors are happy. . . . . . .
LIFE IS GOOD HERE :thumright:

It all might change when I light up a fresh 460 I'm working on, or when I get that fresh 5.0L Roller Engine together & strapped in
the T- Bird Coupe. But T-Bird is way in the future. I'm considering doing another SWB, Integral Bed (aka Uni) anyway, to sit on
my chassis with a fresh 460, in the near future. I've been looking for the right one at the right price. :hm:

see-saw.gif Now that I have all this room "WTH" shrug.gif . . . . . . Huh?

People can't "understand what's wrong" with me. What's wrong is they can't understand. So No need t' worry on that anymore.

Yep, it's been a good trailer. It's more of an equipment mover type of trailer, instead of a car hauler/flat deck style, but I got it for a good deal at the time & it is definitely better than nothing. :D

Here it is, after it's maiden tow.
Hmmm...looking at the pic date, maybe it's a '98. I haven't looked at the title in a while.

wow we all have quite a herd.

All I own is mean ol' miss Agatha. She gets all my attention.

But in my yard, and my grandma's garage (thru the back gate):

1925 (I think) Model T Touring, all parts have been purchased to restore, just needs to happen. Will likely/hopefully wind up being mine some day........

My Dad's '68 LTD

My Ma's '69 Camaro (pretty little bone stock 327 car) ---It's the redheaded stepchild of the family! JK.

My brother's '67 mustang, sadly somewhat of a heap, engine is totally screwed

My folks' '89 F350 Beast. (Crew Cab, Long Bed, 460, haul ANYTHING.)

My Cousin's '73 AMC Javelin (obscene car I swear- was supposed to be iridescent, turned purple, with grabber green engine, and a HUGE oil slick down the front of the block...)

My Grandma's 2000 Volvo S70

and a '47 and '48 CJ2A Flat Fender Willyz Jeeps. Sadly they haven't done anything since we got them.

And all this doesn't even compare to my neighbor's yard..... ech. He finally got rid of some of it, but he had 2 busted tractors (that he bought busted) 3 rotten/ dropped campers, a crashed Jeep Cherokee, his old '70 something Ford truck that died,
Huge holes in front and back yard that were conceived as some sort of retarded rain capture plan
An entire property scattered with broken things/projects that got abandoned
A bathroom that fell apart 20 years ago and is still a crater in the middle of the house.

UH, wait... I've gotten WAAAAY away from the course of the thread. sorry. Just tried to showcase his collection of crap in his front yard.
'63 with 390 & lots of juice. But never enough. Always want more.

You guys put me to shame in the quantity department. But I'll make the most eclectic list, no doubt.

1965 F100 LONGbed 8)
1979 Austin Mini (right hand drive and a whole 37 hp)
1987 BMW 325i race car
1996 Subaru Impreza (wife's car) 216,000 miles and just replaced the original clutch
2008 Subaru Forester (company leased vehicle)

If I had more space, trust me, it would look like a car lot (okay, a junkyard) here. :)
Stop The Longbed Hate! :)
