Someone posted this on another site, I thought you guys would like to see too.
I got a call from my father in-law this afternoon telling me to stop over. When I got there this is what I saw in his garage. This morning a car hauler came by to pick up his Lincoln Town Car to take it (from NY) down to Florida for the winter. Two hours later he got a call from the truck driver telling him the roof of his car was torn off by an overpass bridge on the highway. An insurance adjuster for the car hauler is suppose to stop over tomorrow to take a look at the damage. I'm sure they will total it. The vehicle was a very clean low mile car. I will be surprised if he gets the full value out of the insurance claim. I hate to think of this happening to a rare collector car.
My "Slickitis" affliction began here...

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!
Let me tell you on our past exp. on our Mustang and it will be totaled just from what I see,, as far as insurance if he owes on it I hope he has also gap insurance to where if the insurance gives you less than what is owed gap will pay the difference so it will be paid,, they will only give what they think its worth not what you think ,, What I did on my mustang went and got a kelley blue book value ,, they did not give me all but I got another 1000 over what they wanted to give me after doing that,, If you buy it back you will get a salvage title, then when you go to insure it you will have a problem in which more than likely get only liability or insure for 1/5 of what its worth after being fixed,, car can be fixed I would find another one that has been wrecked someplace else cut the roof 7 get what doors you need.. Now as far as the car carrier a lot of them carry sticks to be sure they do not go over height with that top car 100% driver fault,, You want a scary look watch some of these car carriers on the way they load and unload vehicles,, NOT FOR ME Or sometimes the cheap way is not the way to go,, GOOD LUCK On fighting with the insurance company

I hauled new cars for years and there is absolutely no excuse for that happening. 100% driver error!
INEPTOCRACY: (in-ep'-toc-ra-cy) : a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
One of the torino boys bought a 69 Marauder. If I recall correctly the guy undid the car then tried moving the truck. It rolled off the front/top and bent the car. Mike fixed it and resto'd it.
He joined here but I never see him post though. He is doing a slick right now.
