Custom Cab door panel chrome trim

Post by 66freezerburn »

Is there anyone reproducing the chrome trim that goes around the vinyl
door panel on 65-66(?) Custom Cabs? Or does anyone have any to sell me?
I(My Dad) seemed to have lost the little 90 degree piece on the bottoms

Thank you.

I think the corner pieces are the same for either side, but the other two pieces per door are definitely right or left. I haven't seen anyone reproducing them as of yet.

These are pretty scarce and expensive. I bought mine from a member. There's a set on e-bay with a current bid price of $86.

chrome trim

Post by 66freezerburn »

Well I found it!! sort of.
It turns out what I was looking at was my spare pieces.
Ive just completed a big move and am unpacking my parts I havent seen in 6 years so I couldnt really remember, but I have all 3 pieces per side and they are attached to the vinyl panel.

After thought, does anyone know of a good chrome plating shop?
specifically in Canada? J.C?

Sorry bud, there is ONE in southern Alberta and he is a stick up artist. Thinks he has a monopoly (he does, actually) and charges accordingly. Customer service , "ha I fart in your general direction. You want it in less than six months? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA"

If the trim is like mine and aluminum just polish it. I took mine and cleaned it with draino. I put some water in a plastic bin ,mixed draino and set the parts in that mixture. Check it often. You can also use oven cleaner to clean it. That takes away the clear coat stuff they put on. Be sure to use something like a painters mask it makes nasty fumes. Then when it has that coating off just spray it off with water and then polish. I used a silver wadding pad I got at walmart to polish. It makes it look brand new. If you need the door panels I made a how to at the old site. Its still there at
