Pulley systems
OK Guys!, you might remember I said the Gilma drive belt system was killing my alternator, I`ve now been given the go ahead to get a serpentine belt set up. So I`m after a bit of feed back on whats out there and whats good and whats not!. The only accessory I will be running will be power steering ( and that's in the future at the moment), so don't hold back. Oh yeah the motor is a Cleveland with electric thermo fan, Thanks!

Alan I have this March performance kit for my 460 it is sweet!! What I would do is go to this website and get the number and call them, they are Very good with helping you with the correct information and can send you in the right direction.

As always, I am no fan of serpentine belts, when you lose one thing , you lose everything, sux, especially going up a hill in rush hour traffic. Ask me how I know this.
But March pulleys seem to be the standard. Get ready to fork out BIG DONERO.

March performance is actually much cheaper than billet specialties and several other high dollar pulley kits, but they are clear powder coated and I believe there is a guarantee the finish will never fade or wear from the belt.
Now I almost forgot, you may want to look into Alan Grove as well, They sell brackets and I believe the pulleys in seperate components but nothing is coated you have to chrome or powdercoat them yourself BC Alan grove Decided there were too many cry babies complaining about defects in the chrome. so now they are more affordable and you could buy their brackets and whoever pulleys I believe the BBK? is a nice Brand of pulleys as well
I am not certain if they have cleveland specific but it is worth a try. Just an alternative if you dont like them Awesome March performance pulleys which you better not because that is what I have

Good point Dave!, the Clevo kit has the AC on the right and the ALT on the left but they do look interchangeable ( I hope
) it seems by their web site they don't have a kit that only has ALT and PS, their base unit has ALT/ AC, that to me means everyone has AC and only the odd drongo has PS
, or could that be a ploy?
. I`ll contact them later this week with some probing questions and let you-all know how I fair!

Great info, I would probably be asking this question in the future myself same engine too.
I wouldn't worry too much about a serpentine belt's lack of redundancy, just keep a spare with you in your vehicle with a breaker bar and appropriate socket to work the tensioner. Guarantee you it won't take as long to replace as a V Belt.
Mind you Vee belts aren't very redundant either, I don't think you'd get very far with a broken water pump/fan belt or alternator belt.
That's not even talking about the fact that Serpentine belts put less of a side load on your accessory bearings due to less tension as well as less chance of a break. The only time I've had a serpentine belt fail is when the pilot bearing on my Explorer's AC Compressor went belly up and took the belt with it.
I may just be some kid that thinks he knows everything, but I've seen my dad cuss enough vee belts on machinery and trucks enough to know that the serpentine belt is a marked improvement.

Thanks for the info td!, I`ll check those items out. Your set up looks great!. If you ever have a strange noise coming from the engine compartment!, odds on it will be that flex fan, mine drove me crazy
,but I got even, it`s probably a tea pot now!
