free bulldog
how many of you would bring home a stray bulldog?
neighbor called us up last week, said he was down by our corner.my wife went out to see and he followed her home.
when she was at the store the girl there said some other people were in about a week before posting a sign saying they found him.they must not have liked him and let him go again.
he is a few years old, not suited for outdoor living in the winter.he snorts when he gets too excited, and snores like a big locomotive when he sleeps.
he gets along with and sleeps with the cats and is well behaved in the house.
we call him ripsnorter

you would be sad too if your life was turned upside down and had to find a new home.he cant travel too far or his feet get cold and then you have to carry him in.the wife said he is too heavy so when its real cold she does not walk him around too long or far.i am going to see how he likes the trucks andezernut9mm wrote:he looks kinda sad. he needs a job. give him a wagon to pull around or something or maybe train him to fetch beers.
if he does then he can ride with me when i go somewhere and be a security guard.

Looks like you got yerself a new buddy, Ice. Dang strange dog to have in Alaska, especially one to have gone astray in the winter, short haired dog like that don't go for a walkabout in the snow for fun.
Conclusion , old owners=arseholes
New owners = you.
PS I like that name LOL wonder if rip does.

He looks like one of our dogs, THIS FLAVOR. Sort of a Pitbull flavored dog, but with a nice temprament.
Ours is on the right, his sister is on the left...crappy pic.

If he's like ours, he'll definitely like to chew on stuff. If you get him a thick rubber ball, or a big bone, that will keep him happy for hours.

If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

slickfan, he has been here almost 2 weeks, the only thing he got into he was not supposed to is the cat food.cant really complain about that much as all the dogs do it.
he is well past the chewing puppy stage in life, and we have not seen any agressive behavior.
we were not looking for another dog, but now if anyone wants to claim him, they will need proof he belongs to them, as we will not just give him up.

Looks like my little guy he's a two maybe 2 1/2 months old now (wow when we got him at christmas he was six weeks old). sweet little guy here they hate them with a passion no matter what.
Aslong as i say he's a staffordshirebull terrier no one bothers us though. and everyone pets him and coose over hime.

Maybe ours will not do it so much soon, then. He's about 1-1/2 years old now. One of his favorites is chewing my discard pieces of 2x4's down to toothpicks.ICEMAN6166 wrote: he is well past the chewing puppy stage in life, and we have not seen any agressive behavior.
This is for Oinkette, here he is practicing his chewing in his younger days.

Sizing up the loft in his dog house.

I had a full blooded bulldog as a companion for 13 years, and the best friend a man could ask for. I was a sad man for a long time when he died, and I still think about him almost every day. You cannot ask for a more loyal dog than a Bully. He can not stand too much extreme in either direction of the thermometer. They can die of heat stroke very easily, and their nose (muzzle) is too short to properly warm the cold air befor reaching the lungs.
Treat him well, and you will not regret it.

Ya'll remember the puppy pics I posted in my pet thread, here she is a 4 months of age

Hey Iceman, that dog looks like he has some English Bull in it's blood.
I know a good bulldog forum if you need some info on the breed.
http://www.thepitbullplace.com
It says PitBulls but they cater to all breeds, espeically rescues.

cute dogs. I used to play with a bull dog named "tank". he was a shop dog and would pick on people until they played with him. I would be under a truck and the dog would run off with the tool I needed. so i had to climb out from under and chase him down for it. sometimes he would try to eat the boots off my feet, of course only when i was trying to work. lol
