GMC really had a thing for quad headlights, even the 60's trucks had them.

I like quads, ofcourse. I like duals too, but not on a custom. I think stock truck grills generally look cheap and not too well thought out. And there were intended that way. I think quads look more sophisticated and expensive. And that includes stock trucks with quads.

hmmm, why is there no love for the 4 eyed cruisers?

I agree with the comment on the overall design of the vehicle, rather than being prejudiced against all 4-eyed cars....

plus, being an owner of a few 66 fairlanes, I have to say that is one of the best looking 4 eyed cars ever made....

Naw, one year off. Just about anything built in 1958 can be considered the "ugliest" of the breed.

what was the last year ford used round headlights?
im thinking 76 for cars and 78 for trucks as my 79 f150 had square ones.square ones matched the square box cars they started making around then.most of those were real ugly and for sure i would rather drive the 59 buick than one of those boxcars.

I think you answered your own question correctly, at least on the trucks....I've owned 78 broncos with round and square headlights....so, that must have been the changeover year on trucks....the 78 mustang had round lights, and the good old pinto as well, although I've seen some square headlight pintos, talk about ugly ducklings!

'78 Bronco's & trucks were sort of a changeover year. From what I've noticed, the base models usually got the round headlights & the XLT's & Rangers got square ones.

I know '79 T-birds had round headlights.
'82 T-birds? I can't find a pic anywhere of this car with the headlight doors open. Anybody know?

Image

'80 Courier's did, but they aren't much of a Ford, so I don't think they count.

Does this '06 count? :P
