Garage Lighting 101

Having finally moved into a house with a 2 car garage I was psyched, however working after dark was a bit of a problem because the garage only has one 60W lightbulb and the Garage door opener light to light it.
(This pic is just the door opener so it could be about 2x this brighter but still really shadowy.)

So, having been a lighting designer all of my professional life you can imagine it bugged me.

Currently I work for a lighting manufacturer and got a hook up on some new shop lights. For the cost of lamps, some romex, and a coupe of J-boxes (total about $60). I've expaned my potential working hours just in time for Daylight Savings to end.

The lighting went from 60W to about 300W, from 1 Foot candle on my desk to 30 foot candles.
(5 times the power for 30 times the light!)

I've considered that for years but haven't found a suitable donor car yet. Still want my 202 Comet, but I would compromise. Let me know how you're doing with that. Hot rod, or restoration?

are those t-5 high bay lights??? Used the 4 bulb version in our boiler room and WOW what a difference....

Wow, I'd neve noticed how similar they were, actually it's a 1946 Ford 4 Door Sedan. Build thread is on here too...

No just basic 2x 32W T8 strips with the metal reflectors and 3500K lamp it's a plenty of light, and hows color pretty well, it also shows all the dust and dirt... oops.
