Great job Matt.
I used to live in the Puget Sound area. Retired from Boeing Everett Plant. Spent a lot of time on the island, beautiful place to live.

I'm in Northern Idaho now. There are quite a few of us slick owners here in the north west tri state area that we should attempt to get a chapter together and have a meet and greet. I am willing to host it here or travel any where we might decide upon.

Still working on the slick, slowly.....

A few months ago the radiator cracked while I driving into town, one minute everything was fine and the next there was coolant all over my windshield, fortunately I was not that far from my house and was able to limp it home. I went online and found an all aluminum unit from auto parts warehouse for $200... turned out to bee too good to be true. The radiator was a complete POS!!! After battling with it for a few days i sent it back, got my money back and went down to napa and got another one... Before I put the new radiator in i went ahead and replaced the water pump and decided to do a quick degrease and paint job on the engine....

Hopefully I will get around to putting on my 4v intake and carb this winter, and will repaint and cleanup the entire engine compartment...

I also purchased some sound deadener from B-Quiet, and have been slowly working on installing it, Will follow up with some acoustical foam and hopefully I can hear myself think when i drive it...

Took it to its first car show, one other slick there, 1966 F100 short bed, DJM drop beams, 428/T5 combo, Cool truck, too bad i forgot my camera..

Got some more work done over the weekend.

Scrapped up all the old rubber undercoating off the floor boards down to clean metal and painted them with a few coats of POR-15

Began to put down the sound deadener. I realized early on I wasn't going to get it all to lay in perfectly straight and wrinkle free, even though I spent a lot of time struggling with it, but once the carpet is in, no one will know...

Ordered the ACC carpet from stockinteriors.com, I paid the extra $50 to get the extra thick mass backing to hopefully help the road noise. Also got a extra yard of carpet to make a tank cover.

After a lot of thought, I finally decided to paint my rims black. Going to add chrome beauty rings and chrome hub covers I ordered online thanks to Greg D for suggesting them. Unfortunately, no one seemed to have them in stock, so it will be about two weeks until they arrive..

Pressure washed and sanded the transmission tunnel cover. For whatever reason there is a funny gap that the shifter boot doesn't cover, and it had been bothering me for awhile now.

I decided to fix it and made a patch.

Tacked it together with my MIG welder, and will take it into the shop tomorrow and finish weld it with the TIG.

Funny how the wierd little stuff bugs us!

Looks nice. I think the black rims will turn out nice with some chrome rings and spinners.

Actually, I have never had the tank out... Someday I plan to do the gas tank under the bed conversion, but for now I have been sticking the deadener straight to the tank... If It wasn't full of gas right now I probably pull it, but it isn't too high on my priority list. Just want to get her back on the road!!

Got a little work done today....

Finished welding my transmission cover. While at the shop, I also managed to sandblast it. Decided to use some bed-liner-in-a-can to paint it. Does a great job at covering up all the little dings and dents, and looks pretty good. Not that it matters since it is getting hidden by the carpet.

I also finished cleaning up the new dash panel I am going to use. I like this style a lot better than the sweep style speedometer. Took it in and sandblasted it, than primed and wet sanded. Finished it with some Aluminum engine enamel and clear coat. probably take it back apart and paint the trim rings around the alt and oil gauges the same gloss black as the center.

New parts begin arriving tomorrow, so I should be able to get the dash back together!!

Worked most of the weekend trying to make a gas tank cover out of a extra yard of carpet I got from ACC. Turned out to be a lot more involved that I expected, especially when it came to stretching the carpet around the corners of the cab, But i think it is going to look pretty good once I finish it.

Am I seeing a set of shoulder belts installed in your slick? Can you fill me in on how you installed 'em? I've searched for this previously, but can't say I've seen too many guys who have them in a slick...

I've been thinking about trying to at least slightly improve the safety of my truck for a while...for some reason lap belts just don't do it for me these days!
