Slow and Steady.
Kinda rushed the underside of the hood, so now im going to be running a bit slower when it comes to spraying the white.
Insides didnt need much work besides where people kick the door getting in. Left all the factory spot welds and such because I like seeing them there. Prevents the finished product from looking like a street rod.
One door done.

to my surprise opwk was painting today. the passenger door looks awsome buddy. in my defense i was working on the truck also. just somewhere else. i was with my uncles: bill w. and garbz. bill w. came up from tucson and we met up at garbz house. we gutted a parts cab and got it set onto my finished rolling chassis. we also got whats left of my bed set on the finished chassis as well. we are mocking the bed and cab on the frame so that we know where the hard fuel lines need to go and we are going to be rebuilding the bed, raising the bed floor, putting a wooden bed floor in, and adding a unibed rear roll pan. be prepared to be blown away by whats to come!

Thanks Alex.
Other door is done. Ran into a little snafu, sprayed sealer and instantly the damn door fish eyed everywhere. They say if you have a mistake while painting, stop, walk away, wait a day, then sand and retry. I opted or dousing the whole door in laquer thinner and wiping all that shit off. rather than set me back a day, it only set me back about 30 minutes.

Standard supplies. Slealer on the right, paint on the left, Banquet in the middle.

cabs second blasting

Post by azratrod »

so the cab needed to be blasted a second time after having the rear big back window put in. plus there was some surface rust that popped up and some spots that needed attention. the cab is now at scotts and the body work is about to begin.
