temp sending unit location

Post by jercasche »

I am not sure were the sending unit is supposed to go on my 292. I believe the old wiring was hooked on a round silver thing bolted to the top of the intake manifold right next to the coil. Is this where the wire is supposed to go or is there an actual place on the motor that a sending unit needs to be installed. :? I have looked through the wiring book for my 64 and cannot find a location for the temp sensor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is place for the sender on driver side cylinder head right behind intake manifold.
Should be 1/4" npt threads there.

Of course that's it. There must be a sending unit in there because there are some small threads sticking out of it in that spot. I couldn't find that pic anywhere in my shop truck or wiring book. Thanks alot. :D
