But I don't think my paint is patina yet.

I can't tell you how many hours I have put into this every week, for the last year.
Definitely glad to be close to the end.

Re: Rusted 64 Project
Well, I maid the maiden voyage in the slick today.
I got it insured and registered and had to take it down to have a windshield installed.
I had the wife come home from work to help me drop it off and follow close behind in case anything fell off
Luckily nothing did. The wife was on her feet and grabbed a couple videos on her phone. Sorry if it's shaky. At one point while exiting our neighborhood we saw a cop, so she moved her phone down.
Not sure why the YouTube embed isn't working. First time doing it, sorry. Finally got it......

Wow, I have to confess when I first saw the pic of that one I thought, why bother? You have done an excellent job! Way to go and with the texas heat ta boot.
If you don't already, your going to love that Y block, my favorite. Hope to see it on the road some time.

Cool! I like how she put the phone down when the cop was at the light.

Lol, yeah, I was thankful for that.Max wrote:Cool! I like how she put the phone down when the cop was at the light.
We saw 3 more on the way and thought for sure I would have been stopped not having a windshield.

Ok all, (big sigh), it has been a long year and a half......or a little more. I am posting some final pics of my project. I am at the point where I am essentially done. Only have small tweaking and adjusting to do, with maybe adding a few emblems. I will ask for those for christmas.
I am going to post some before, then after pics here. Hope you all enjoy.

Re: Rusted 64 Project - Completed!
Thanks for the kind words all. I am happy to be at this point and to be able to drive her now.
And yeah, I say completed, but you are right, I am sure I will have something big I will want to change or add later, but for now I am super happy just driving it.
Really enjoy the looks I get, driving the column shift and original 292 with glass packs. It is fun getting on the throttle and then letting off and hearing the extra full popping off like gun shots. I am sure I will need to look into that later.
And happy to know that it will likely not get stolen. My anti theft is a column shift, no power brakes and no power steering with a 13 inch steering wheel system that will probably not leave the parking lot with someone else at the wheel. I already have it "wife proof". She tried to drive it and said "never again". I am sure she will change her mind though.
