engine location

as i mentioned in earlier posts, i bought my slick with the upgrade work started/completed, i have found a few items not done correctly already and have fixed them, small stuff, one of my major things is the engine does not sit centered in the frame, its off to the the passenger side about 2 inches, is this normal ? its a 429, motor mounts and towers have been changed, look like new stuff, nothing looks fabricated, it all looks like factory type stuff,

I think they are supposed to be offset. look at the header and steering box. my 65 is CLOSE! matter of fact the header has been beat in to fit around the steering box.

yeah its a tight fit on mine too, if it was centered it wouldnt fit with the steering, so i was wondering if they just moved it over to make it fit or if thats the way it is, does the 352 sit off center ?

it's about right.... the trans tunnel is also pushed to the passenger side. This give the driver more room.

Most engines in most rear wheel drive vehicles are off to the passenger side a little, it's normal.

I know by personal experience that the engines in Ford trucks '61-79 are all offset +- 1 1/2" to the right (Passenger side). This probaly applies to more years than that, but these are the ones I know for sure.
